.THeſe now are the cõmandements, " ordinances, and lawes, which the Lord your God commanded me to teache you, that ye might do them in the land whether ye go to poſſeſſe it:
.That thou mighteſt a feare the Lord thy God, and kepe all his ordinances, and his commandements which I commãde thee, thou, and thy ſonne, and thy ſonnes ſonne all the dayes of thy life, euen that thy dayes may be prolonged.
.Heare therefore, ô Iſraél, and take hede to do it, that it may go wel with thee, and that ye may increaſe mightely b in the land that floweth with milke and hony, as the Lord God of thy fathers hathe promiſed thee.
.Heare, ô Iſraél, The Lord our God is Lord onely,
.And * thou ſhalt loue the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy ſoule, and with all thy might.
.* And theſe wordes which I commande thee this day, ſhalbe in thine heart.
.And thou ſhalt c rehearſe them continually, vnto thy children, and ſhalt talke of them when thou tarieſt in thine houſe, and as thou walkeſt by the way, and when thou lyeſt downe, and when thou riſeſt vp:
.And thou ſhalt binde them for a ſigne vpon thine hand, and they ſhalbe " as frontelets betwene thine eyes.
.Alſo thou ſhalt write them vpõ the d poſtes of thyne houſe, and vpon thy gates.
.And when the Lord thy God hathe broght thee into the land, which he ſware vnto thy fathers, Abrahám, Izhák, and Iaakób, to giue to thee, with great and goodly cities which thou buyldedſt not,

.Thou ſhalt feare the Lord thy God, and ſerue him, & ſhalt f ſweare by his Name.
.Ye ſhal not walke after other gods, after anie of the gods of the people which are round about you,
.(For the Lord thy God is a ielous God among you:) leſt the wrathe of the Lord thy God be kindeled againſt thee, and deſtroy thee from the face of the earth.
.¶ Ye ſhal not g tempt the Lord your God, as ye did tempt him in Maſſáh:
.But ye ſhal kepe diligently the commãdemẽts of the Lord your God, and his teſtimonies, and his ordinances which he hathe commanded thee,
.And thou ſhalt do that which is right and good in the h ſight of the Lord : that thou maieſt proſper, and that thou maieſt go in, and poſſeſſe that good land which the Lord ſware vnto thy fathers,
.To caſt out all thine enemies before thee, as the Lord hathe ſaid.
.When i thy ſonne ſhal aſke thee in time to come, ſaying, What meane theſe teſtimonies, and ordinances, and lawes, which the Lord our God hathe commanded you?
.Then thou ſhalt ſay vnto thy ſonne, We were Pharaohs bondmen in Egypt: but the Lord broght vs out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
.And the Lord ſhewed ſignes and wonders great & euil vpõ Egypt, vpon Pharaóh, and vpon all his houſholde, before our eyes,
.And k broght vs out from thence, to bring vs in, and to giue vs the land which he ſware vnto our fathers.
.Therefore the Lord hathe commanded vs, to do all theſe ordinances, & to feare ye Lord our God, that it may go euer wel with vs, & that he may preſerue vs aliue as at this preſent.
.Moreouer, this ſhal be our l righteouſnes before the Lord our God, if we take hede to kepe all theſe commandements, as he hathe commanded vs.
