The ordre of the lampes 6 The purifying and offring of the Leuites. 24 The age of the Leuites, when they are receiued to ſeruice, and when they are dimiſſed.
1.ANd the Lord ſpake vnto Moſés, ſaying,
2.Speake vnto Aarón , and ſay vnto him, When thou lighteſt the lampes, the ſeuen lampes ſhal giue light towarde the a forefront of the Candelſticke.
3.And Aarón did ſo , lighting the lampes thereof toward the forefront of the Cādelſticke , as the Lord had commanded Moſés.
4.And this was the worke of the Candelſticke, euen of golde beaten out with the hammer, bothe the ſhaft , and the floures thereof * was beatē out with the hammer: b accordīg to the paterne, which the Lord had ſhewed Moſés, ſo made he the Candelſticke.
5.¶ And the Lord ſpake vnto Moſés , ſaying,
6.Take the Leuites from among the children of Iſraél, and purifie them.
7.And thus ſhalt thou do vnto them, when thou purifieſt them , Sprinkle c water of purificacion vpon them, & let them ſhaue all their fleſh , and waſh their clothes : ſo thei ſhalbe cleane.
8.Then thei ſhal take a yong bullocke with his meat offring of fine floure , mingled with oyle , and another yong bullocke ſhalt thou take for a ſinne offring.
9.Then thou ſhalt bring the Leuites before the Tabernacle of the Congregacion, and aſſemble d all the Congregacion of the children of Iſraél.
10.Thou ſhalt bring the Leuites alſo before the Lord , & the e children of Iſraél ſhal put their hands vpon the Leuites.
11.And Aarón ſhal offer the Leuites before the Lord, as a ſhake offring of the childrē of Iſraél, that thei may execute the ſeruice of the Lord.
12.And the Leuites ſhal put their hands vpon the heades of the bullockes, and make thou the one a ſinne offring, & the other a burnt offring vnto the Lord , that thou maieſt make an atonemēt for the Leuites.
13.And thou ſhalt ſet the Leuites before Aarón and before his ſonnes, and offer them as a ſhake offring to the Lord.
14.Thus thou ſhalt ſeparate the Leuites from among the children of Iſraél, & the Leuites ſhalbe * mine.
15.And afterward ſhal the Leuites go in, to ſerue in the Tabernacle of the Congregacion, and thou ſhalt purifie them and offer them, as a ſhake offring.
16.For thei are frely giuen * vnto me from among the children of Iſraél, for f ſuche as open anie wombe: for all the firſtborne of the children of Iſraél haue I taken thē vnto me.
17.* For all the firſtborne of the children of Iſraél are mine, bothe of man and of beaſt : ſince the day that I ſmote euerie firſtborne in the land of Egypt, I ſanctified them for my ſelf.
18.And I haue taken the Leuites for all the firſtborne of the children of Iſraél,
19.And haue giuen the Leuites as a gift vnto Aarón , and to his ſonnes from among the children of Iſraél, to do the ſeruice of the g children of Iſraél in the Tabernacle of the Congregacion, and to make an atonement for the children of Iſraél, that there be no plague among the children of Iſraél, when the children of Iſraél come nere vnto h the Sanctuarie.
20.¶ Thé Moſes and Aarón & all the Congregacion of the children of Iſraél did with the Leuites, according vnto all that the Lord had commanded Moſes concerning the Leuites : ſo did the children of Iſraél vnto them.
21.So the Leuites were purified, and waſhed their clothes, & Aarón offred thé as a ſhake offring before the Lord, & Aarón made an atonemét for thé, to purifie thé.
22.And after that, went the Leuites in to do their ſeruice in the Tabernacle of ye Cógregacion, i before Aarón & before his ſonnes: as the Lord had commanded Moſes concerning the Leuites, ſo thei did vnto them.
23.¶ And ye Lord ſpake vnto Moſes, ſaying,
24.This alſo belongeth to the Leuites: from fiue and twentié yere olde and vpwarde, thei ſhal go in, to execute their office in the ſeruice of the Tabernacle of the Cógregacion.
25.And after the age of fiftie yere, thei ſhal ceaſe from executing the k office, and ſhal ſerue no more:
26.But thei ſhal miniſter l with their brethren in the Tabernacle of the Congregació, to kepe things committed to their charge, but thei ſhal do no ſeruice: thus ſhalt thou do vnto the Leuites touching their charges.
