Leviticus 25

2 The Sabbath of the seuenth yere. 8 The Iubile in the fiftieth yere 14 Not to oppresse their brethren 23 The sale, and redeming of lands, houses and persones.
1.ANd the Lord ſpake vnto Moſés in mount Sinai, ſaying,
2.Speake vnto the children of Iſraél, and ſay vnto them, When ye ſhal come into the land which I giue you, the * land ſhal " kepe Sabbath vnto the Lord.
3.a Six yeres thou ſhalt ſowe thy field, and ſix yeres thou ſhalt cut thy vineyard, and gather the frute thereof.
4.But the ſeuenth yere ſhalbe a Sabbath of reſt vnto the land: it ſhalbe the Lords Sabbath: thou ſhalt nether ſowe thy field, nor cut thy vineyarde.
5.That which groweth of it b owne accorde of thy harueſt, thou ſhalt not reape, nether gather the grapes that thou haſte " left vnlaboured: for it ſhalbe a yere of reſt vnto the land.
6.And the d reſt of the lād ſhalbe meat for you, euen for thee, & for thy ſeruant, & for thy maid, & for thy hyred ſeruant, and for the ſtranger that ſoiourneth with thee:
7.And for thy cattel, and for the beaſtes that are in thy land ſhal all the increaſe thereof be meat.
8.¶ Alſo thou ſhalt nomber ſeuen " Sabbaths of yeres vnto thee, euen ſeuen times ſeuen yeres: and the ſpace of the ſeuen Sabbaths of yeres wil be vnto thee nine and fourty yere.
9.e Then thou ſhalt cauſe to blowe the trumpet of the Iubile in the tenth day of the ſeuenth moneth: euen in the day of the reconciliacion ſhal ye make the trumpet blowe, through out all your land.
10.And ye ſhal halowe that fiftieth yere, and proclaime libertie in the land to all the f inhabitants thereof: it ſhal be the Iubile vnto you, and ye ſhal returne euerie man vnto his g poſſeſsion, and euerie man ſhal returne vnto his familie.
11.This fiftieth yere ſhalbe a yere of Iubile vnto you: ye ſhal not ſowe, nether reape that which groweth of it ſelfe, nether gather the grapes thereof, that are left vnlaboured.
12.For it is the Iubile, it ſhal be holy vnto you: ye ſhal eat of the increaſe thereof out of the field.
13.In the yere of this Iubile, ye ſhal returne euerie man vnto his poſſeſsion.
14.And whē thou ſelleſt oght to thy neighbour, or byeſt at thy neighbours hand, ye ſhal h not oppreſſe one another:
15.But according to the number of i yeres after the Iubile thou ſhalt bye of thy neighbour: alſo according to the nomber of the yeres of the reuenues, he ſhal ſel vnto thee.
16.According to the multitude of yeres, thou ſhalt encreaſe the price thereof, and according to the fewnes of yeres, thou ſhalt abate the price of it: for the nomber of k frutes doeth he ſel vnto thee.
17.Oppreſſe not ye therefore anie man his neighbour, but thou ſhalt feare thy God: for I am the Lord your God.
18.¶ Wherefore ye ſhal obey mine ordināces, and kepe my lawes, and do them, and ye ſhal dwel in the land " in ſaftie.
19.And the land ſhal giue her frute, and ye ſhal eat your fil, and dwel therein in ſaftie.
20.And if ye ſhal ſay, What ſhal we eat the ſeuenth yere, for we ſhal not ſowe, nor gather in our increaſe?
21.I wil " ſend my bleſsing vpon you in the ſixt yere, and it ſhal bring forthe frute for thre yeres.
22.And ye ſhal ſowe the eight yere, and eat of the olde frute vntil the ninth yere: vntil the frute thereof come, ye ſhal eat the olde.
23.¶ Alſo the land ſhal not be ſolde to be l cut of from the familie: for the land is mine, and ye be but ſtrangers and ſoiourners with me.
24.Therefore in all the land of your poſſeſsion ye ſhal m grante a redempcion for the land.
25.¶ If thy brother be impoueriſhed, & ſel his poſſeſsion, thē his redemer ſhal come, euen his nere kinſman, and bye out that which his " brother ſolde.
26.And if he haue no redemer, but " hathe gotten and founde to bye it out,
27.Then ſhal he n counte the yeres of his ſale, and reſtore the ouerplus to the man, to whome he ſolde it: ſo ſhal he returne to his poſſeſſion.
28.But if he can not get ſufficient to reſtore to him, then that which is ſolde, ſhal remaine in the hãd of him that hathe boght it, vntil the yere of the Iubile: and in the Iubile it ſhal come o out, and he ſhal returne vnto his poſſeſſion.
29.Likewiſe if a man ſel a dwelling houſe in a walled citie, he may bye it out againe within a whole yere after it is ſolde: within a yere may he bye it out.
30.But if it be not boght out within the ſpace of a ful yere, then the houſe that is in the walled citie, ſhalbe ſtabliſhed, p as cut of from the familie, to him that boght it, throughout his generacions: it ſhal not go out in the Iubile.
31.But the houſes of villages, which haue no walles rounde about them, ſhalbe eſtemed as the field of the countrie: they may be boght out againe, and ſhal go out in the Iubile.
32.Notwithſtanding, the cities of the Leuites, and the houſes of the cities of their poſſeſſion, may the Leuites redeme * at all ſeaſons.
33.And if a mã purchaſe of the Leuites, the houſe that was ſolde, and the citie of their poſſeſſion ſhal go out in the Iubile: for ye houſes of the cities of ye Leuites are their poſſeſſion among the children of Iſraél.
34.But the field of the q ſuburbes of their cities, ſhal not be ſolde: for it is their perpetual poſſeſſion.
35.Moreouer if thy brother be impoueriſhed, and r fallen in decay with thee, thou ſhalt releue him, and as a ſtrãger and ſoiourner, ſo ſhal he liue with thee.
36.* Thou ſhalt take no vfurie of him, nor vantage, but thou ſhalt feare thy God, that thy brother may liue with thee.
37.Thou ſhalt not giue him thy money to vfurie, nor lend him thy vitailes for increaſe.
38.I am the Lord your God, which haue broght you out of the lãd of Egypt, to giue you the land of Canáan, and to be your God.
39.* If thy brother alſo that dwelleth by thee, be impoueriſhed, and be ſolde vnto thee, thou ſhalt not compel him to ſerue as a bonde ſeruant,
40.But as an hyred ſeruant, and as a ſoiourner he ſhal be with thee: he ſhal ſerue thee vnto the yere of the Iubile.
41.Thẽ ſhal he departe from thee, bothe he, and his children with him, and ſhal returne vnto his familie, and vnto the poſſeſſion of his fathers ſhal he returne:
42.For they are my ſeruants, whome I broght out of the land of Egypt: they ſhal not be ſolde as bonde men are s ſolde.
43.* Thou ſhalt not rule ouer him cruelly, but ſhalt feare thy God.
44.Thy bonde ſeruant alſo, and thy bonde maid, which thou ſhalt haue, ſhalbe of the heathen that are roũde about you: of thẽ ſhal ye bye ſeruants and maids.
45.And moreouer of the children of the ſtrangers, that are ſoiourners among you, of them ſhal ye bye, and of their families that are with you, which they begate in your land: theſe ſhalbe your t poſſeſſion.
46.So ye ſhal take them as inheritance for your children after you, to poſſeſſe them by inheritance, ye ſhal vſe their labours for euer: but ouer your brethren the children of Iſraél ye ſhal not rule one ouer another with crueltie.
47.If a " ſoiourner or a ſtranger dwelling by thee get riches, and thy brother by him be impoueriſhed, and ſel him ſelfe vnto the ſtranger or ſoiourner dwelling by thee, or to the ſtocke of the ſtrangers familie,
48.After that he is ſolde, he may be boght out: one of his brethren may bye him out,
49.Or his vncle, or his vncles ſone may bye him out, or anie of the kinred of his fleſh among his familie, may redeme him: either if he can u get ſo muche, he may bye him ſelfe out.
50.Then he ſhal recken with his byer from the yere that he was ſolde to him, vnto the yere of Iubile: and the money of his ſale ſhalbe according to the number of x yeres: according to the time of an hyred ſeruant ſhal he be with him.
51.If there be manie yeres behinde, according to them he ſhal giue againe for his deliuerance, of the money that he was boght for.
52.If there remaine but fewe yeres vnto the yere of Iubile, thẽ he ſhal coũte with him, and according to his yeres giue againe for his redemption.
53.He ſhalbe with him yere by yere as an hyred ſeruãt: he ſhal not rule cruelly ouer him in thy y ſight.
54.And if he be not redeemed thus, he ſhal go out in the yere of Iubile, he, and his children with him.
55.For vnto me the children of Iſraél are ſeruants: they are my ſeruants, whome I haue broght out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
