Ezekiel 9

1 The deſtructiõ of the citie. 4 They that ſhalbe ſaued, are marked. 8 A complaint of the prophet for the deſtruction of the people.
1.HE cryed alſo with a loude voice in mine eares, ſaying, The viſitacions of the citie drawe nere, and euerie man hathe a weapon in his hand to deſtroye it.
2.And beholde, ſix men came by the way of the hie gate, which lieth toward the North, and euerie man a weapon in his hand to deſtroye it: and one man among them was clothed with linnen, with a writers ynkhorne by his ſide, & thei went in and ſtode beſide the braſen altar.
3.And the glorie of the God of Iſraél was gone vp from the Cherúb, whereupon he was and ſtode on the dore of the houſe & he called to the man clothed with linnen, which had the writers ynkhórne by his ſide.
4.And ye Lord ſaid vnto him, Go through the middes of the citie, euen through the middes of Ieruſalém, and ſet a marke vpon the foreheads of them that mourne, and crye for all the abominacions that be done in the middes thereof.
5.And to the other he ſaid, that I might heare, Go ye after him through the citie, and ſmite: let your eye ſpare none, nether haue pitie.
6.Deſtroye vtterly the olde, & the yong, and the maids, and the children, and the women, but touche no man, vpon whome is the marke, and begin at my Sanctuarie. Then they began at the Ancient men, which were before the houſe.
7.And he ſaid vnto thẽ, Defile the Houſe, and fil the courtes with the ſlaine, then go forthe: and they went out, and ſlewe them in the citie.
8.Now when they had ſlaine them, and I had eſcaped, I fel downe vpõ my face, and cryed, ſaying, Ah Lord God, wilt thou deſtroye all the reſidue of Iſraél, in powring out thy wrath vpon Ieruſalém?
9.Then ſaid he vnto me, The iniquitie of the houſe of Iſraél, and Iudáh is exceding great, ſo that the land is ful of blood, & the citie ful of corrupt iudgement: for thei ſay, The Lord hathe forſaken the earth, and the Lord ſeeth vs not.
10.As touching me alſo, mine eye ſhal not ſpare them, nether wil I haue pitie, but wil recompence their wayes vpon their heads.
11.And beholde, the mã clothed with linen which had the ynkhorne by his ſide, made report, and ſaid, Lord I haue done as thou haſt commanded me.

This declareth, that the ſeruantes of God haue a cõpaſsion, when they ſe his iudgements executed.
