Ezekiel 36

8 He promiſeth to deliuer Iſraél from the Gentiles. 22 The benefites done vnto the Iewes, are to be aſcribed to the mercie of God, and not vnto their deſeruings. 26 God renueth our hearts, that we maie walke in his commandements.
1.ALſo thou ſonne of man, prophecie vnto the mountaines of Iſraél, and ſaie, Ye mountaines of Iſraél, heare ye worde of the Lord.
2.Thus ſaith the Lord God, Becauſe the enemie hathe ſaid againſt you, Aha, euen the hie places of the worlde are ours in poſſeſſion,
3.Therefore prophecie, and ſaie, Thus ſaith the Lord God, Becauſe that they haue made you deſolate, and ſwallowed you vp on euerie ſyde, that ye might be a poſſeſsion vnto the reſidue of the heathen, and ye are come vnto the lippes & tongues of men, and vnto the reproche of the people,
4.Therefore ye mountaines of Iſraél, heare the worde of the Lord God, Thus ſaith ye Lord God to the mountaines and to the hilles, to the riuers, and to the valleis, and to the waſte, & deſolate places, and to the cities that are forſaken: which are ſpoiled and had in deriſion of the reſidue of the heathen that are rounde about.
5.Therefore thus ſaith the Lord God, Surely in the fyre of mine indignation haue I ſpoken againſt the reſidue of the heathẽ, and againſt all Idumea, which haue taken my land for their poſſeſsion, with the ioye of all their heart, & with deſpiteful mindes to caſt it out for a praie.
6.Prophecie therefore vpon the land of Iſraél, and ſaie vnto the mountaines, and to the hilles, to the riuers, and to the valleis, Thus ſaith the Lord God, Beholde, I haue ſpoken in mine indignation, and in my wrath, becauſe ye haue ſuffered the ſhame of the heathen,
7.Therefore thus ſaith the Lord God, I haue lifted vp mine hand, ſurely the heathen that are about you, ſhal beare their ſhame.
8.But you, ô mountaines of Iſraél, ye ſhal ſhoote forthe your branches, and bring forthe your frute to my people of Iſraél: for thei are ready to come.
9.For beholde, I come vnto you, and I wil turne vnto you, and ye ſhal be tilled and ſowen.
10.And I wil multiplie the men vpon you, euen all the houſe of Iſraél wholly, & the cities ſhalbe inhabited, & the deſolate places ſhalbe buylded.
11.And I wil multiplie vpon you man and beaſt, and thei ſhal encreaſe, and bring frute, and I wil cauſe you to dwel after your olde eſtate, & I wil beſtowe benefites vpon you more then at the firſt, and ye ſhal knowe that I am the Lord.
12.Yea, I wil cauſe men to walke vpon you, euen my people Iſraél, & thei ſhal poſſeſſe you, and ye ſhal be their inheritance, and ye ſhal nomore henceforth depriue thẽ of men.
13.Thus ſaith the Lord God, Becauſe thei ſaie vnto you, Thou land deuoureſt vp men, and haſt bene a waſter of thy people,
14.Therefore thou ſhalt deuoure men no more, neither waſte thy people hẽce forthe, ſaith the Lord God,
15.Neither wil I cauſe men to heare in thee the ſhame of the heathen any more, neither ſhalt thou beare the reproche of the people any more, neither ſhalt cauſe thy folke to fall any more, ſaith ye Lord God.
16.¶ Moreouer the worde of the Lord came vnto me, ſaying,
17.Sonne of man, when the houſe of Iſraél dwelt in their owne land, thei defiled it by their owne waies, & by their dedes: their waie was before me as the filthines of the menſtruous.
18.Wherefore I powred my wrath vpon them, for the blood that thei had ſhed in the land, and for their idoles, wherewith thei had polluted it.
19.And I ſcattred them among the heathen, and thei were diſperſed through the countreis: for according to their waies, and according to their dedes, I iudged them.
20.And when thei entred vnto the heathẽ, whether thei wẽt, thei polluted mine holy Name, when they ſaid of them, Theſe are the people of the Lord, and are gone out of his land.
21.But I fauoured mine holy Name which the houſe of Iſraél had polluted amōg the heathen, whether they went.
22.Therefore ſay vnto the houſe of Iſraél, Thus ſaith ye Lord God, I do not this for your ſakes, ô houſe of Iſraél, but for mine holie Names ſake, which ye polluted among the heathen whither ye went.
23.And I wil ſanctifie my great Name, wc was polluted among the heathen, among whome you haue polluted it, & the heathē ſhal knowe that I am the Lord, ſaith the Lord God, when I ſhalbe ſanctified in you before their eyes.
24.For I wil take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countreis, and wil bring you into your owne land.
25.Then wil I powre cleane water vpon you, and ye ſhalbe cleane: yea, frō all your filthines, and frõ all your idoles wil I clēſe you.
26.A new heart alſo wil I giue you, and a new ſpirit wil I put within you, and I wil take away the ſtonie heart out of your bodye, & I wil giue you an heart of fleſh.
27.And I wil put my Spirit within you, & cauſe you to walke in my ſtatutes, & ye ſhal kepe my iudgements and do them.
28.And ye ſhal dwell in the lād, that I gaue to your fathers, and ye ſhal be my people and I wil be your God.
29.I wil alſo deliuer you from all your filthines, and I wil call for corne, and wil increaſe it, and lay no famine vpon you.
30.For I wil multiplie the frute of the trees, and the encreaſe of the field, that ye ſhal beare no more the reproche of famine among the heathen.
31.Thē ſhal ye remēber your owne wicked wayes, & your dedes that were not good, & ſhal iudge your ſelues worthie to haue bene deſtroyed for your iniquities, and for your abominacions.
32.Be it knowen vnto you that I do not this for your ſakes, ſaith the Lord God: therefore, ô ye houſe of Iſraél, be aſhamed, and confounded for your owne wayes.
33.Thus ſaith the Lord God, What time as I ſhal haue clenſed you from all your iniquities, I wil cauſe you to dwell in the cities, and the deſolate places ſhal be buylded.
34.And the deſolate lād ſhalbe tilled, whereas it lay waſte in the ſight of all that paſſed by.
35.For they ſaid, This waſte lād was like the garden of Eden, and theſe waſte and deſolate and ruinous cities were ſtrong, and were inhabited.
36.Then the reſidue of the heathen that are left round about you, ſhal knowe that I the Lord buylde the ruinous places, and plant the deſolate places: I the Lord haue ſpoken it, and wil do it.
37.Thus ſaith the Lord God, I wil yet for this be ſoght of the houſe of Iſraél, to performe it vnto them: I wil encreaſe them with men like a flocke.
38.As the holie flocke, as the flocke of Ieruſalém in their ſolemne feaſtes, ſo ſhal the deſolate cities be filled with flockes of men, and they ſhal knowe, that I am the Lord.
