He prophecieth againſt Pharaóh and Egypt. 13 The Lord promiſeth that he wil reſtore Egypt after fourtie yeres. 18 Egypt is the rewarde of King Nebuchad-nezzar for the labour, which he toke againſt Tyrus.

1.IN the ^atéth yere, in y tenth moneth in the twelfth day of the moneth, the worde of the Lord came vnto me, ſaying,

2.Sóne of mã, ſet thy face againſt Pharaóh the King of Egypt, and prophecie againſt him, and againſt all Egypt.

3.Speake, & ſay, Thus ſaith the Lord God, Beholde, I come againſt thee, Pharaóh King of Egypt, y great ^bdragõ, that lieth in the middes of his riuers, w hathe ſaid, The riuer is mine, & I haue made it for my ſelf.

4.But I wil put ^chokes in thy chawes, & I wil cauſe y fiſh of thy riuers to ſticke vnto thy ſcales, & I wil drawe thee out of the middes of thy riuers, & all the fiſh of thy riuers ſhal ſticke vnto thy ſcales.

5.And I wil leaue thee in y wildernes, bothe thee & all the fiſh of thy riuers: y ſhalt fall vpon the open field: y ſhalt not be broght together, nor gathered: for I haue giuen the for meat to y beaſtes of the field, and to the foules of the heauen.

6.^*And all y^e inhabitãts of Egypt ſhal knowe that I am the Lord, becauſe thei haue bene a ſtaffe of ^*reed to the houſe of Iſraél.

7.When thei toke holde of thee with their hand, thou dideſt breake, and rent all their ſhoulder: and when thei leaned vpon thee, thou brakeſt and madeſt all their loines to ^"ſtand ^evpright.

8.Therefore thus ſaith the Lord God, Beholde, I wil bring a ſworde vpon thee, and deſtroy man and beaſt out of thee,

9.And the land of Egypt ſhalbe deſolate, & waſte, and thei ſhal knowe that I am the Lord: becauſe he hathe ſaid, ^fThe riuer is mine, and I haue made it,

10.Beholde, therefore I come vpon thee, and vpon thy riuers, and I wil make the land of Egypt vtterly waſte and deſolate from the towre of Seuenéh, euen vnto the borders of the ^"blacke Mores.

11.No foote of mã ſhal paſſe by it, nor foote of beaſt ſhal paſſe by it, nether ſhal it be inhabited fourtie yeres.

12.And I wil make the land of Egypt deſolate in the middes of the countreis, that are deſolate, and her cities ſhalbe deſolate amõg the cities that are deſolate, for fourtie yeres: and I wil ſcattre the Egyptians among the nacions, and wil diſperſe them through the countreis.

13.Yet thus ſaith y^e Lord God, ^*At the end of fourtie yeres wil I gather the Egyptiãs frõ the people, where thei were ſcattred,

14.And I wil bring againe the captiuitie of Egypt, and wil cauſe them to returne into the land of Pathrós, into the land of their habitation, and thei ſhalbe there a ^gſmall kingdome.

15.It ſhalbe the ſmalleſt of the kingdomes, nether ſhal it exalt it ſelf any more aboue the nacions: for I wil diminiſh them, that thei ſhal no more rule the nacions.

16.And it ſhal be no more the confidence of the houſe of Iſraél, to bring their ^hiniquitie to remembrance by loking after them, ſo ſhal thei knowe, that I am y^e Lord God.

17.¶ In the ⁱſeuen and twentieth yere alſo in the firſt moneth, & in y^e firſt day of the moneth came the worde of the Lord vnto me, ſaying,

18.Sonne of man, Nebuchad-nezzár King of Babél cauſed his armie to ſerue a great ^kſeruice againſt Tyrus: euerie head was made balde, and euerie ſhoulder was made bare: yet had he no wages, ^lnor his armie for Tyrus, for the ſeruice that he ſerued againſt it.

19.Therefore thus ſaith the Lord God, Beholde, I wil giue the land of Egypt vnto Nebuchad-nezzár the King of Babél, and he ſhal take her multitude, and ſpoile her ſpoile, and take her pray, and it ſhal be the wages for his armie.

20.I haue giuen him the land of Egypt for his labour, that he ſerued againſt it, becauſe thei wroght for me.

21.In that day wil I cauſe the horne of the houſe of Iſraél to growe, and I wil giue thee an open mouth in the middes of thẽ, and thei ſhal knowe that I am the Lord.
