2 The worde of God againſt the King of Tyrus for his pride. 21 The worde of the Lord againſt Zidón. 25 The Lord promiſeth that he wil gather together the children of Iſraél.

1.THe worde of the Lord came againe vnto me, ſaying,

2.Sõne of mã, ſay vnto y^e prince of Tyrus, Thus ſaith the Lord God, Becauſe thine heart is exalted, and thou haſt ſaid, ^aI am a God, I ſit in the ſeat of God in the middes of the ſea, yet thou art but a man and not God, & ^bthogh thou dideſt thinke in thine heart, y thou waſt equal with God,

3.Beholde, thou art wiſer thẽ ^cDaniél: there is no ſecret, that thei can hide from thee.

4.With thy wiſdome and thine vnderſtanding thou haſt gotten thee riches, and haſt gotten gold and ſiluer into thy treaſures.

5.By thy great wiſdome and by thine occupying haſt y increaſed thy riches, and thine heart is lifted vp becauſe of thy riches.

6.Therefore thus ſaith the Lord God, Becauſe thou dideſt thĩke in thine heart, that thou waſt equal with God,

7.Beholde, therefore I wil bring ſtrangers vpon thee, euen the terrible nacions: and thei ſhal drawe their ſwordes againſt the beautie of thy wiſdome, and thei ſhal defile thy brightnes.

8.Thei ſhal caſt thee downe to the pit, and thou ſhalt dye the death of them, that are ſlaine in the middes of the ſea.

9.Wilt thou ſay then before him, y ſlaieth thee, I am a god? but thou ſhalt be a man, and no God, in the hands of him that ſlaieth thee.

10.Thou ſhalt dye the death of the ^dvncircumciſed by the hands of ſtrangers: for I haue ſpoken it, ſaith the Lord God.

11.¶ Moreouer the worde of the Lord came vnto me, ſaying,

12.Sonne of man, take vp a lamentacion vpon the King of Tyrus, and ſay vnto him, Thus ſaith the Lord God, Thou ſealeſt vp the ſumme, & art ful of ^ewiſdome and perfite in beautie.

13.Thou haſt bene in Eden y gardé of God: euerie precious ſtone was in thy garment, y ^"rubie, y topaze & the diamód, y ^"chryſolite, y onix, & the iaſper, y ſaphir, emeraud, & the carbúcle & golde: y worke manſhip of thy timbrels, & of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that y waſt created.

14.Thou art ^fthe anointed Cherúb, that couereth, and I haue ſet thee ^gin honour: thou waſt vpó y holy mountaine of God: y haſt walked in y middes of the ^hſtones of fyre.

15.Thou waſt perfite in thy waies from the day that thou waſt ⁱcreated, til iniquitie was founde in thee.

16.By the multitude of thy marchandiſe, thei haue filled the middes of thee with crueltie, and thou haſt ſinned: therefore I wil caſt thee as prophane out of y ^kmountaine of God: & I wil deſtroy thee, ô couering Cherúb from the middes of the ſtones of fyre.

17.Thine heart was lifted vp becauſe of thy beautie, & thou haſt corrupted thy wiſdome by reaſon of thy brightnes: I wil caſt thee to the grounde: I wil lay thee before Kings that thei may beholde thee.

18.Thou haſt defiled thy ^lſanctification by y multitude of thine iniquities, & by the iniquitie of thy marchádiſe: therefore wil I bring forthe a fyre frõ y middes of thee, which ſhal deuoure thee: & I wil bríg thee to aſhes vpon the earth, in the ſight of all them that beholde thee.

19.All thei y knowe thee among the people, ſhalbe aſtoniſhed at thee: thou ſhalt be a terrour, & neuer ſhalt thou be any more.

20.¶ Againe, the worde of the Lord came vnto me, ſaying,

21.Sonne of man, ſet thy face againſt Zidón, and prophecie againſt it,

22.And ſay, Thus ſaith y Lord God, Beholde, I come againſt thee, ô Zidón, & I wil be ^mglorified in y middes of thee: & thei ſhal knowe that I am the Lord, when I ſhal haue executed iudgements in her, and ſhalbe ſanctified in her.

23.For I wil ſend into her peſtiléce & blood into her ſtretes, and the ſlaine ſhal fall in y middes of her: ⁿthe enemies ſhal come againſt her with the ſworde on euerie ſide, & thei ſhal knowe that I am the Lord.

24.And thei ſhalbe no more a pricking thorne vnto y houſe of Iſraél, nor any grieuous thorne of all that are rounde about them, and deſpiſed the, and thei ſhal knowe that I am the Lord God.

25.Thus ſaith y Lord God, Whé I ſhal haue gathered y houſe of Iſraél frõ y people where thei are ſcattred, & ſhal be ^oſanctified in thẽ in the ſight of the heathen, then ſhal thei dwell in the land, that I haue giuen to my ſeruant Iaakób.

26.And thei ſhal dwell ſafely therein, & ſhal buyld houſes, & plant vineyardes: yea, thei ſhal dwell ſafely, whé I haue executed iudgeméts vpó all rounde about the y deſpiſe thẽ, & thei ſhal knowe y I am y Lord their God.
