Ezekiel 27

The Prophet bewaileth the deſolatio of Tyrus, ſhewing what were the riches, power and autoritie thereof in time paſt.
1.THe worde of the Lord came againe vnto me, ſaying,
2.Sonne of man, take vp a lamentation for Tyrus,
3.And ſay vnto Tyrus, yt is ſituat at the éntrie of the ſea, which is the marte of the people for manie yles, Thus ſaith ye Lord God, O Tyrus, thou haſt ſaid, I am of perfit beautie.
4.Thy borders are in the middes of ye ſea, & thy buylders haue made thee of perfite beautie.
5.Thei haue made all thy ſhipbordes of fyrre trees of Shenir: they haue broght cedres frō Lebanón, to make maſts for thee.
6.Of ye okes of Baſhán haue they made thine ores: the companie of the Aſſyrians haue made thy bankes of yuorie, broght out of the yles of Chittim.
7.Fine linen with broydred worke, broght from Egypt, was ſpred, ouer thee to be thy ſaile: blewe ſilke & purple, broght from the yles of Eliſháh, was thy couering.
8.The inhabitants of Zidón, and Aruád were thy mariners: ô Tyrus, thy wiſemen that were in thee, thei were thy pilotes.
9.The ancients of Gebál, and the wiſemen thereof were in thee thy calkers, all the ſhips of the ſea with their mariners were in thee to occupie thy marchandiſe.
10.Thei of Perſia, and of Lud and of Phut were in thine armie: thy men of warre thei hanged ye ſhield & helmet in thee: thei ſet forthe thy beautie.
11.The mẽ of Aruád with thine armie were vpon thy walles rounde about, and the Gammadims were in thy towers: thei hãged their ſhields vpon thy walles rounde about: thei haue made thy beautie perfite.
12.They of Tarſhiſh were thy marchants for the multitude of all riches, for ſiluer, yron, tynne, and lead, which thei broght to thy faires.
13.Thei of Iauán, Tubál and Meſhéch were thy marchants, concerning the liues of men, and thei broght veſſels of braſſe for thy marchandiſe.
14.Thei of ye houſe of Togarmáh broght to thy faires horſes, & horſmen, & mules.
15.The men of Dedán were thy marchants: and the marchandiſe of manie yles were in thine hands: thei broght thee for a preſent hornes, bones, teeth, and peacockes.
16.Thei of Arám were thy marchants for the multitude of thy wares: thei occupied in thy faires with emeraudes, purple, and broydred worke, and fine linin, and coral, and perle.
17.They of Iudáh and of the land of Iſraél were thy marchants: thei broght for thy marchandiſe wheat of Minníth, and Pannág, and hony and oyle, and balme.
18.Thei of Damaſcus were thy marchants in ye multitude of thy wares, for the multitude of all riches, as in the wine of Helbón and white wolle.
19.Thei of Dan alſo and of Iauán, going to and fro occupied in thy faires: yron worke, caſſia and calamus were amõg thy marchandiſe.
20.Thei of Dedán were thy marchants in precious clothes for the charets.
21.Thei of Arabia, & all the princes of Kedár occupied with thee, in lambes, & rams & goats: in theſe were thei thy marchãts.
22.The marchants of Shebá, and Raamáh were thy marchants: thei occupied in thy faires with the chief of all ſpices, and with all precious ſtones and golde.
23.Thei of Harám and Cannéh and Edén, the marchants of Shebá, Aſſhúr & Chilmád were thy marchants.
24.Theſe were thy marchants in all ſortes of things, in raiment of blewe ſilke, and of broydred worke, and in coffers for the riche apparel, which were bounde wt cordes: chaines alſo were among thy marchãdiſe.
25.The ſhippes of Tarſhiſh were thy chief in thy marchãdiſe, and thou waſt repleniſhed and made very glorious in the middes of the ſea.
26.Thy robbers haue broght thee into great waters: the Eaſt winde hathe broken thee in the middes of the ſea.
27.Thy riches and thy faires, thy marchandiſe, thy mariners and pilotes, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy marchandiſe and all thy men of warre that are in thee, & all thy multitude which is in the middes of thee, ſhal fall in the middes of the ſea in the daie of thy ruine.
28.The ſuburbes ſhal ſhake at the ſounde of the crye of the pilotes.
29.And all that handle the ore, the mariners & all the pilotes of the ſea ſhal come downe from their ſhips, & ſhal ſtand vpon the land,
30.And ſhal cauſe their voice to be heard againſt thee, and ſhal crye bitterly, and ſhal caſt duſt vpon their heads, and wallowe them ſelues in the aſſhes.
31.Thei ſhal plucke of their heere for thee and gyrd them with a ſackecloth, and thei ſhal wepe for thee with ſorowe of heart & bitter mourning.
32.And in their mourning thei ſhal take vp a lamẽtaciõ for thee, ſaying, What citie is like Tyrus, ſo deſtroied in ye middes of ye ſea!
33.Whẽ thy wares went forthe of the ſeas, thou filledſt manie people & yu dideſt enriche the Kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches & of thy marchãdiſe.
34.When thou ſhalt be broken by the ſeas in the depths of the waters, thy marchandiſe and all thy multitude, which was in the middes of thee, ſhal fall.
35.All the inhabitãts of the yles ſhalbe aſtoniſhed at thee, & all their Kĩgs ſhal be ſore afraied & troubled in their countenance.
36.The marchants among the people ſhal hiſſe at thee: thou ſhalt be a terrour, and neuer ſhalt be anie more.
