The Tables are renued 6 The deſcription of God. 12 All fellowſhip with idolaters is forbidden 18 The thre feaſts 28 Moſes is 40 daies in the mount 30 His face ſhineth, and he couereth it with a vaile.
.ANd ye Lord ſaid vnto Moſes, * Hewe thee two Tables of ſtone, like vnto ye firſt firſt, and I wil write vpon the Tables the wordes that were in ye firſt Tables, which thou brakeſt in pieces.
.And be ready in the morning, that thou maieſt come vp early vnto the moūt of Sinái, and " waite there for me in the top of the mount.
.But let no man come vp with thee, nether let anie man be ſene throughout all the mount, nether let the ſhepe nor cattel fede before this mount.
.¶ Thē Moſes " hewed two Tables of ſtone like vnto the firſt, and roſe vp early in ye morning, and went vp vnto the mount of Sinái, as the Lord had cōmanded him, & toke in his hand two Tables of ſtone.
.And the Lord deſcended in the cloude, and ſtode with him there, and proclaimed the Name of the Lord.
.So the Lord paſſed before his face, and a cryed, The Lord, ye Lord, ſtrong, merciful, and gracious, ſlow to angre, & abundant in goodnes and trueth,
.Reſeruing mercie for thouſands, forgiuing iniquitie, & tranſgreſsion and ſinne, and not b making the wicked innocent, * viſiting the iniquitie of the fathers vpon the children, and vpon childrens childrē, vnto the third and fourth generation.
.Then Moſes made haſte and bowed him ſelf to the earth, and worſhipped,
.And ſaid, ô Lord, I praye thee, if I haue founde grace in thy ſight, that the Lord wolde now go wt vs ( c for it is a ſtifnecked people) and pardone our iniquitie & our ſinne, and take vs for thine enheritance.
.And he anſwered, Beholde, * I wil make a couenant before all thy people, and wil do meruels, ſuche as haue not bene done in all the world, nether in all nations: and all the people amōg whome thou art, ſhal ſe the worke of ye Lord: for it is a terrible thing that I wil do with thee.
.Kepe diligently that which I commande thee this day. beholde, I wil caſt out before thee the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, & the Perizzites, and the Hiuites, and the Iebuſites.
.* Take hede to thy ſelf, that thou make no compact with the inhabitants of the land whither ye goeſt, leſt they be the cauſe of d ruine among you:
.But ye ſhal ouerthrowe their altars, and breake their images in pieces, and cut downe their e groues,
.(For thou ſhalt bowe downe to none other god, becauſe the Lord, whoſe Name is * Ielous, is a ielous God)
.Leſt thou make a * compact with the inhabitants of the land, and when they go a whoring after their gods, and do ſacrifice vnto their gods ſome man call thee, and thou * eat of his ſacrifice:
.And leſt thou take of their * daughters vnto thy ſonnes, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy ſonnes go a whoring after their gods.
.Thou ſhalt make thee no gods of f metal.
.¶ The feaſt of vnleauened bread ſhalt ye kepe: ſeuē dayes ſhalt thou eat vnleauened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the * moneth of Abíb: for in the moneth of Abib thou cameſt out of Egypt.
.* Euerie male, that firſt openeth ye wombe ſhalbe mine: alſo all the firſt borne of thy flocke ſhalbe reconed mine, bothe of beues and ſhepe.
.But the firſt of the aſſe thou ſhalt bye out with a lambe: and if thou redeme him not, then thou ſhalt breake his necke: all the firſt borne of thy ſonnes ſhalt thou redeme, and none ſhal appeare before me g empty.
.¶ Six dayes thou ſhalt worke, and in the ſeuēth day thou ſhalt reſt: bothe in earing time, and in the harueſt thou ſhalt reſt.
.* Thou ſhalt alſo obſerue the feaſt of wekes in the time of ye firſt frutes of wheat harueſt, and the feaſt of gathering frutes in h the end of the yere.
.* Thriſe in a yere ſhal all your mē childrē appeare before ye Lord Iehouáh God of Iſraél.
.For I wil caſt out the nacions before thee, and enlarge thy coaſtes, ſo that no man ſhal i deſire thy land, whē thou ſhalt come vp to appeare before the Lord thy God thriſe in the yere.
.* Thou ſhalt not offer the blood of my ſacrifice with leauen, nether ſhal oght of the ſacrifice of the feaſt of Paſſeouer be left vnto the morning.
.The firſt ripe frutes of thy land thou ſhalt bring vnto the houſe of the Lord thy God: yet ſhalt thou not k ſethe a kid in his mothers milke.
.And the Lord ſaid vnto Moſes, Write thou theſe wordes: for after the tenoure of * theſe wordes I haue made a couenant with thee and with Iſraél.
.So he was there with the Lord l fourtie daies and fourtie nights, and did nether eat bread nor drinke water: and he wrote in the Tables * the wordes of ye couenant, euen the ten " commandements.
.¶ So when Moſes came downe frō moūt Sinái, the two Tables of the Teſtimonie were in Moſes hand, as he deſcended from the mount: (now Moſes wiſt not that ye ſkin of his face ſhone bright, after that God had talked with him)
.And Aa:rón and all the childrē of Iſraél loked vpon Moſes, and beholde, the ſkin of his face ſhone bright, and they were * afraide to come nere him.
.But Moſés called them: and Aarón and all the chief of the Congregacion returned vnto him : and Moſés talked with them.
.And afterward all the childré of Iſraél came nere, and he charged them with all that the Lord had ſaid vnto him in moũt Sinái.
.So Moſés made an end of communing with them, * and had put a couering vpon his face.
.But, when Moſés came m before ye Lord to ſpeake with him, he toke of the coue- ring vntil he came out: then he came out, and ſpake vnto the children of Iſraél that which he was commanded.
.And the children of Iſraél ſawe the face of Moſés , how the skin of Moſés face ſhone bright: therefore Moſés put the co- uering vpõ his face, vntil he went to ſpea- ke with God.
