Exodus 24

5 The people promiſe to obey God. 4 Moſes writeth the ciuile lawes 9,13 Moſes returneth into the mountaine. 14 Aarón and Hur haue the charge of the people. 18 Moſes was 40 daies & 40 nightes in the mountaine.
1.NOw he had a ſaid vnto Moſes, Come vp to the Lord, thou, and Aarón, Nadáb, & Abihú, and ſeuenty of the Elders of Iſraél, & ye ſhal worſhip a far of.
2.And Moſes him ſelfe alone ſhal come nere to the Lord, but they ſhal not come nere, nether ſhal the people go vp with him.
3.b Afterward Moſes came and tolde the people all the wordes of the Lord and all the ^ lawes: and all the people anſwered with one voyce, and ſaid, * All the things which the Lord hathe ſaid, wil we do.
4.And Moſes wrote all the wordes of the Lord, and roſe vp early, and ſet vp an * altar vnder the mountaine, and twelue pillers according to the twelue tribes of Iſraél.
5.And he ſent yong c men of the children of Iſraél, which offered burnt offrings of beues, & ſacrificed peace offrings vnto the Lord.
6.Thé Moſes toke halfe of the blood, and put it in baſens, and halfe of the blood he ſprinkled on the altar.
7.After he toke the ^ boke of the couenant, and read it in the audience of the people: who ſaid, All that the Lord hathe ſaid, we wil do, and be obedient.
8.Then Moſes toke the * blood, and ſprin-kled it on the people, & ſaid, Beholde, the d blood of the couenant, which the Lord hathe made with you concerning all theſe things.
9.¶ Then went vp Moſes and Aarón, Nadáb, and Abihú, and ſeuenty of the Elders of Iſraél.
10.And they e ſawe the God of Iſraél, and vnder his fete was as it were a ^ worke of a Saphir ſtone, & as the very heauen whé it is cleare.
11.And vpon the nobles of the children of Iſraél he f laid not his hand: alſo they ſawe God, and g did eat & drinke.
12.¶ And the Lord h ſaid vnto Moſes, Come vp to me into the mountaine, & be there, and I wil giue thee i tables of ſtone, and ye Lawe & the commandement, which I haue written, for to teache k them.
13.Then Moſes roſe vp & his miniſter Ioshúa, & Moſes went vp into the mountai-ne of God,
14.And ſaid vnto the Elders, Tarie vs here, vntil we come againe vnto you: & beholde, Aarón, and Hur are wt you: whoſoeuer hathe anie matters, let him come to them.
15.Then Moſes went vp to the mount, and the cloude couered the mountaine,
16.And the glorie of the Lord abode vpon mount Sinái, & the cloude couered ^ it ſix daies: and the ſeuenth day he called vnto Moſes out of the middes of the cloude.
17.And the ſight of the glorie of the Lord was like l conſuming fire on the top of the mountaine, in the eies of the children of Iſraél.
18.And Moſes entred into the middes of the cloude, & went vp to the mountaine: & Moſes was in the * mount fourty dayes and fourty nightes.
