Exodus 15

1 Moſes with the men and women ſing praiſes vnto God for their deliuerance. 23 The people murmure 25 At the praier of Moſes the bitter waters are ſwete 26 God teacheth the people obedience.
1.THē a ſang * Moſés & the childrẽ of Iſraél this ſong vnto the Lord, and ſaid in this maner, I wil ſing vnto the Lord: for he hathe triūphed gloriouſly: yͤ horſe and him that rode vpõ him hathe he ouerthrowen in the Sea.
2.The Lord is my ſtrength and || praiſe, and he is become my ſaluació He is my God, and I wil b prepare him a tabernacle. he is my fathers God, and I wil exalt him.
3.The Lord is a c man of warre, his d Name is Ichouáh.
4.Pharaohs charets & his hoſte hath he caſt into the Sea: his choſen captaines alſo were drowned in the red Sea.
5.The depths haue couered thé, they ſancke to the bothome as a ſtone.
6.Thy || right hãd, Lord, is glorious in power: thy right hand, Lord, hathe bruiſed the ennemie.
7.And in thy great glorie thou haſt ouerthrowẽ them that roſe againſt e thee: thou ſenteſt forthe thy wrath, which conſumed them as the ſtubble.
8.And by yͤ blaſt of thy noſtrels the waters were gathered, the floods ſtode ſtil as an heape, the depths congeled together in the " heart of the Sea.
9.The ennemie ſaid, I wil purſue I wil ouertake them, I wil deuide the ſpoile, my luſt ſhalbe ſatisfied vpõ them, I wil drawe my ſworde, mine hand ſhal deſtroy them.
10.Thou bleweſt with thy winde, the Sea couered them, they ſancke as lead in the mightie waters.
11.Who is like vnto thee, ô Lord, among the f gods! who is like thee ſo glorioꝰ in holines, fearful in g praiſes, ſhewing wõders!
12.Thou ſtretchedſt out thy right hãd, the earth ſwalowed them.
13.Thou wilt by thy mercie carye this people, which thou deliueredſt: thou wil bring them in thy ſtrength vnto thine holy h habitacion.
14.The people ſhal heare & be afraied: ſorowe ſhal come vpon the inhabitants of Paleſtina.
15.Then the dukes of Edóm ſhalbe amaſed, and trembling ſhal come vpon the great men of Moáb: all the inhabitants of Canáan ſhal waxe faint hearted.
16.* Feare & dread ſhal fall vpon them . be-cauſe of the " greatnes of thine arme, they ſhalbe ſtil as a ſtone, til thy people paſſe, ô Lord: til this people paſſe, which thou haſt purchaſed.
17.Thou ſhalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountaine of thine i inheritãce, which is the place that thou haſt prepared, ô Lord, for to dwel in, euẽ the ſanctuarie, ô Lord, which thine hãds ſhal eſtabliſh.
18.The Lord ſhal reigne for euer and euer.
19.For Pharaohs horſes went with his charets and horſmen into the Sea, and the Lord broght the waters of the Sea vpon them: but the children of Iſraél went on drye land in the middes of the Sea.
20.¶ And Miriám the propheteſſe ſiſter of Aarón toke a timbrel in her hand, and all the women came out after her w̃ timbrels and k daunces.
21.And Miriám l anſwered them, Sing ye vnto the Lord: for he hathe triūphed gloriouſly: the horſe and his rider hathe he ouerthrowen in the Sea.
22.Then Moſés broght Iſraél from the red Sea, and they went out into the wildernes of Shur: and they went thre dayes in the wildernes, & founde no waters.
23.And whẽ they came to Maráh, they colde not drinke of the waters of Maráh, for they were bitter: therefore yͤ name of the place was called " Maráh.
24.The people murmured againſt Moſés, ſaying, What ſhal we drinke?
25.And he cryed vnto the Lord, & yͤ Lord ſhewed him a * tre, which when he had caſt into yͤ waters, the waters were ſwete: there he made them an ordinance & a lawe, and there he m proued them,
26.And ſaid, If thou wilt diligently hearkẽ, o Iſrael, vnto the voyce of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that, which is n right in his ſight, and wilt giue eare vnto his commandements, and kepe all his ordinances, then wil I put none of theſe diſeaſes vpõ thee, which I broght vpon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.
27.* And they came to Elím, where were twelue founteines of water & ſeuétie " palme trees, & they cãped there by yͤ waters.
