Psalms 108

This Psalme is composed of two other Psalmes before, the seven and fiftieth and the sixtieth. The matter here conteined is, 1 That David giveth him self with heart and voice to praise the Lord, 7 And assureth him self of the promise of God concerning his kingdom over Israél, and his power against other nations: 11 Who though he seme to forsake us for a time, yet he alone wil in the end cast down our enemies.
¶ A song or Psalme of David.
1.O God, mine heart is aprepared, so is my ^tongue: I wil sing and give praise.
2.Awake viole & harpe: I wil awake early.
3.I wil praise thee, ô Lord, among the bpeople, and I wil sing unto thee among the nations.
4.For thy mercie is great above the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.
5.cExalt thy self, ô God, above the heavens, and let thy glorie be upon all the earth,
6.That thy beloved maie be delivered: dhelp with thy right hand and hear me.
7.God hathe spoken in his eholines: therefore I wil rejoyce, I shal divide Shechém and measure the valley of Succóth.
8.Gileád shalbe mine, and Manasséh shalbe mine: Ephráim also shalbe the strength of mine head: Juda is my Lawegiver.
9.*Móab shalbe my washpot: over Edóm wil I cast out my shoe: upon Palestina wil I triumph.
10.Who wil lead me into the strong citie? who wil bring me unto Edóm?
11.fWilt not thou, ô God, which haddest forsaken us, and didest not go forth, ô God, with our armies?
12.Give us help against trouble: for vain is the help of man.
13.Through God we shal do valiantly: for he shal tread down our enemies.

This earnest affection declares that he is free from hypocrisy, and that sluggishness stays him not.

He prophecies of the calling of the Gentiles: for except they were called, they could not hear the goodness of God.

Let all the world see your judgements, in that that you are God over all, and so confess that you are glorious.

When God by his benefits makes us partakers of his mercies, he admonishes us to be earnest in prayer to desire him to continue and finish his graces.

As he has spoken to Samuel concerning me, so will he show himself constant, and holy in his promise, so that these nations following shall be subject unto me.
