Chronicles 15

Dauid prepareth an hoſte for the Arke. 4 The nomber and ordre of the Leuites. 16 The ſingers are choſen
.And Dauid made him houſes in the citie of Dauid, and prepared a place for the Arke of God, and pitched for it a tent.
.Then Dauid ſaid, None oght to cary the Arke of God, but the Leuites: for the Lord hathe choſen them to beare the Arke of the Lord, and to miniſtre vnto him for euer.
.¶ And Dauid gathered all Iſraél together to Ieruſalém to bring vp the Arke of the Lord vnto his place, which he had ordeined for it.
.And Dauid aſſembled the ſonnes of Aarón, and the Leuites.
.Of the ſonnes of Koháth Vriél the chief, and his brethren ſix ſcore.
.Of the ſones of Merarí, Aſaiáh the chief, and his brethren two hundreth & twentie.
.Of the ſonnes of Gerſhóm, Ioél the chief, and his brethren an hundreth and thirtie.
.Of the ſonnes of Elizaphán, Shemaiáh the chief, and his brethren two hundreth.
.Of the ſonnes of Hebrón, Eliél the chief, and his brethren foureſcore.
.Of the ſonnes of Vzziél, Amminadáb the chief, and his brethren an hundreth & twelue.
.¶ And Dauid called Zadók & Abiathár the Prieſts, and of the Leuites, Vriél, Aſaiáh and Ioél, Shemaiáh, and Eliél, and Amminadáb:
.And he ſaid vnto the, Ye are the chief fathers of the Leuites: ſanctifie your ſelues, and your brethren, and bring vp the Arke of the Lord God of Iſraél vnto the place that I haue prepared for it.
.For becauſe ye were not there at ye firſt, the Lord our God made a breache among vs: for we ſoght him not after due ordre.
.So the Prieſts and the Leuites ſanctified them ſelues to bring vp the Arke of the Lord God of Iſraél.
.¶ And the ſonnes of the Leuites bare the Arke of God vpon their ſhuleers with the barres, as Moſés had commanded, according to the worde of the Lord.
.And Dauid ſpake to the chief of the Leuites, that they ſhulde appoint certeine of their brethren to ſing with inſtruments of muſike, with violes and harpes, & cymbales, that the might make a ſounde, and lift vp their voyce with ioye.
.So the Leuites appointed Hemán the ſonne of Ioél, and of his brethren Aſáph the ſonne of Berechiáh, and of the ſonnes of Merarí their brethren, Ethán the ſonne of Kuſhaiáh,
.And with them their brethren in the ſeconde degre, Zechariáh, Ben, and Iaaziél, and Shemiramóth, and Iehiél, and Vnní, Eliáb, and Benaiáh, and Maaſiáh, & Mattithiáh, and Elipheléh, and Mikneáh, and Obéd Edóm, and Ieiél the porters.
.So Hemán, Aſáph & Ethán were ſingers to make a ſounde with cymbales of braſſe,
.And Zechariáh, and Aziél, and Shemiramóth, and Iehiél, and Vnní, and Eliáb, and Maaſhiáh, and Benaiáh with violes on Alamóth,
.And Mattithiáh, & Elipheléh, and Mikneáh, and Obéd Edóm, and Ieiél, and Azaziáh, with harpes vpon Sheminith to excell.
.But Chenaniáh the chief of the Leuites had the charge, bearing the burden in the charge, for he was able to inſtruct.
.And Berechiáh & Elkanáh were porters for the Arke.
.And Shecaniáh and Iehoſhaphat and Nethaneél and Amaſhai, and Zechariáh, and Benaiáh, and Eliézer the Prieſts did blowe with trumpets before the Arke of God, and Obéd Edóm and Iehiáh were porters for the Arke.
.So Dauid and the Elders of Iſraél and the captaines of thouſands went to bring vp the Arke of the couenant of the Lord from the houſe of Obéd Edóm with ioye.
.And becauſe that God helped the Leuites that bare the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, they offred ſeuen bullockes and ſeuen rams.
.And Dauid had on him a linen garmet, as all the Leuites that bare the Arke, and the ſingers and Chenaniáh that had the chief charge of the ſingers: and vpon Dauid was a linen Ephód.
.Thus all Iſraél broght vp ye Arke of the Lords couenant with ſhouting and ſounde of trumpets & with cornet, & with cymbales, making a ſounde with violes & with harpes.
.And when the Arke of the couenant of the Lord came into the citie of Dauid, Michál the daughter of Saúl loked out at a windowe, & ſawe King Dauid dancing and playing, and ſhe deſpiſed him in her heart.
