2 Kings 9

6 Iehú is made King of Iſraél, 24 And killeth Iehorám the King thereof. 27 And Ahaziáh, otherwiſe called Ochozias, the King of Iudah. 33 And cauſeth Iezébel to be caſt downe out of a window, and the dogs did eat her.
1.1 THen Eliſhá the Prophet called one of the children of the Prophetes, and ſaid vnto him, * a Gyrde thy loynes and take this boxe of oyle in thine hand, and get thee to Ramóth Gileád.
2.2 And when thou commeſt thether, loke where is Iehú the ſonne of Iehoſhaphat, the ſonne of Nimſhi, and go, and make him ariſe vp from among his brethren, & lead him " to a ſecret chamber.
3.3 Then take the boxe of oyle, and powre it on his head, & ſay, Thus ſayeth the Lord, I haue anointed thee for King ouer Iſraél. then open the dore, and flee without tarying.
4.4 So the ſeruant of the Prophet gate him to Ramóth Gileád.
5.5 And whẽ he came in, beholde, the captaines of the armie were ſitting And he ſaid, I haue a meſſage to thee, ô captaine. And Iehú ſaid, Vnto which of all vs? And he anſwered, To thee, ô captaine.
6.6 And he aroſe, and went into the houſe, and he powred the oyle on his head, and ſaid vnto him, Thus ſaith the Lord God of Iſraél, I haue b anointed thee for King ouer the people of the Lord, euen ouer Iſraél.
7.7 And thou ſhalt ſmite the houſe of Aháb thy maſter, that I may auenge the blood of my ſeruants the Prophetes, & the blood of all the ſeruants of the Lord * of the hand of Iezébel.
8.8 For the whole houſe of Aháb ſhalbe deſtroyed: and * I wil cut of from Aháb, him that maketh water againſt the wall, aſwel him that is ſhut vp, as him that is left in Iſraél.
9.9 And I wil make the houſe of Aháb like the houſe * of Ieroboám the ſonne of Nebát, & like the houſe * of Baaſhá the ſonne of Ahiiáh.
10.10 And the dogs ſhal eat Iezébel in the field of Izreél, and there ſhalbe none to burye her. And he opened the dore, and fled.
11.11 ¶ Then Iehú came out to the c ſeruants of his lord. And one ſaid vnto him, Is all wel? wherefore came this d mad fellowe to thee? And he ſaid vnto them, Ye knowe the man, and what his talke was.
12.12 And thei ſaid, It is falſe, tel vs it now. Then he ſaid, Thus and thus ſpake he to me, ſaying, Thus ſaith the Lord, I haue anointed thee for King ouer Iſraél.
13.13 Then Then they made haſte, and toke euerie man his garment, and put it vnder him on the top of the ſtaires, and blewe the trumpet, ſaying, Iehú is King.
14.So Iehú the ſonne of Iehoſhaphat the ſonne of Nimſhí cõſpired againſt Iorám (Now Iorám kept Ramóth Gileád, he & all Iſraél becauſe of Hazaél Kĩg of Arám.
15.And * King Iorám returned to be healed in Izreél of the woundes, which the Aramites had giuen him, when he foght with Hazaél King of Arám) and Iehú ſaid, If it be your mindes, let no man departe and eſcape out of the citie, to go & tel in Izreél.
16.So Iehú gate vp into a charet, and went to Izreél: for Iorám laye there, and e Ahaziáh King of Iudáh was come downe to ſe Iorám.
17.And the watcheman that ſtode in the towre in Izreél, ſpyed the companie of Iehú as he came, and ſaid, I ſe a companie. And Iehorám ſaid, Take a horſeman and ſend to mete them, that he may ſay, Is it peace?
18.So there went one on horſebacke to mete him, and ſaid, Thus ſaith the King, Is it peace? And Iehú ſaid, What haſt thou to do with peace? " turne behinde me. And the watchemã tolde, ſaying, The meſſenger came to them, but he commeth not againe.
19.Then he ſent out another on horſebacke, which came to them, and ſaid, Thus ſaith the King, Is it peace? And Iehú anſwered, What haſt thou to do with peace? turne behinde me.
20.And the watchman tolde, ſaying, He came to them alſo, but commeth not againe, and the marching is like the marching of Iehú the ſonne of Nimſhí: for he marcheth f furiouſly.
21.g Then Iehorám ſaid, Make readie: and his charet was made readie. And Iehorám King of Iſrael and Ahaziáh King of Iudáh went out ether of them in his charet againſt Iehú, and met him in the field of Nabóth the Izreelite.
22.And when Iehorám ſawe Iehú, he ſaid, Is it peace, Iehú? And he anſwered, What peace? the whoredomes of thy mother Iezébel, and her witchcraftes are yet in great nomber.
23.Then Iehorám turned his hand, & fled, and ſaid to Ahaziáh, O Ahaziáh, there is treaſon.
24.But Iehú toke a bowe in his hand, and ſmote Iehorám betwene the ſhulders, that the arowe went through his heart: and he fel downe in his charet.
25.Thẽ ſaid Iehú to Bidkár a captaine, Take, & caſt him in ſome place of the field of Nabóth the Izreelite: for I remember that when I and thou rode together after Aháb his father, the Lord " layed this burden vpon him.
26.* Surely I haue ſene yeſterday the blood of Nabóth, and the blood of his h ſonnes, ſaid the Lord, and I wil rẽder it thee in this field, ſaith the Lord: now therefore take and caſt him in the field, according to the worde of the Lord.
27.But when Ahaziáh the King of Iudáh ſawe this, he fled by the way of the gardẽ houſe: and Iehú purſued after him, & ſaid, Smite him alſo in the charet: & thei ſmote him in the going vp to Gur, which is by Ibleám. And he fled to i Megiddó, and there dyed.
28.And his ſeruants caryed him in a charet to Ieruſalém, & buryed him in his ſepulchre with his fathers in ye citie of Dauid.
29.¶And in the k eleuenth yere of Iorám the ſonne of Aháb, begã Ahaziáh to reigne ouer Iudáh.
30.And when Iehú was come to Izreél, Iezébel heard of it, and painted her face, and tired her head, l & loked out at a wyndow.
31.And as Iehú entred at the gate, ſhe ſaid, m Had Zimrí peace, wc ſlewe his maſter?
32.And he lift vp his eyes to the windowe, and ſaid, Who is on my ſide, who? Then two or thre of her " Eunuches loked vnto him.
33.And he ſaid, Caſt her downe: and they caſt her downe, n and he ſprinkled of her blood vpon the wall, and vpon the horſes, and he trode her vnder fote.
34.And whẽ he was come in, he did eat and drinke, and ſaid, Viſite now yonder curſed woman, and bury her: for ſhe is a o Kings daughter.
35.And thei went to bury her, but thei foũd no more of her then the ſkul & the fete, and the palmes of her hands.
36.Wherefore they came againe and tolde him. And he ſaid, This is the worde of the Lord, which he ſpake " by his ſeruãt Eliiáh the Tiſhbite, ſaying, * In the field of Izreél ſhal the dogs eat the fleſh of Iezébel.
37.And the carkeis of Iezébel ſhalbe as doung vpõ the grounde in the field of Izreél, ſo yt none ſhal ſay, p This is Iezébel.
