2 Kings — Argument

This ſeconde boke conteineth the actes of the Kings of Iudáh and Iſraél:to wit, of Iſraél, from the death of Aháb vnto the laſt King Hoſhéa, who was impriſoned by the King of Aſſyria, & his citie Samaria taken, & the tẽ tribes by the iuſte plague of God for their idolatrie & diſobedience to God led into captiuitie. And alſo of Iudáh, frõ the reigne of Iehorám ſonne of Iehoſhaphat vnto Zedechia who for contemning the Lords cõmandement by his Prophetes, & neglecting his ſundry admonitiõs, by famine & other meanes was taken by his enemies, ſawe his ſonnes moſte cruelly ſlaine before his face, & his owne eyes put out, as the Lord had declared to him before by his Prophet Ieremie: and alſo by the iu-ſte vengeance of God for contempt of his worde Ieruſalém was deſtroyed, the Temple burnt, and he
