Kings 7

The buylding of the houſes of Salomón. 15 The excel- lent workemanſhip of Hiram in the pieces which he made for the Temple.
.BVt Salomón was buylding his owne houſe * thirtene yeres, and a finiſhed all his houſe.
.2 He buylt alſo an houſe b called the foreſt of Lebanón, an hundreth cubites lóg, and fiftie cubites broade, and thirtie cubites hie, vpon foure rowes of cedre pillers, and cedre beames were laied vpon the pillers.
.3 And it was couered aboue with cedre vpó the beames, that lay on the fourtie & fiue pillers, fiftene in a rowe.
.4 And the windowes were in thre rowes, & windowe was c againſt windowe in thre rankes.
.5 And all the dores, and the ſide poſtes wit' the windowes were ſoure ſquare, & windowe was ouer againſt windowe in thre rankes.
.6 And he made a porche of pillers fiftie cubites long, and thirtie cubites broade, and the porche was before d them, euen before them were thirtie pillers.
.7 ¶ Then he made a porche e for the throne, where he iudged, euen a porche of iudgement, & it was cieled with cedre from pauement to pauement.
.8 And in his houſe, where he dwelt, was an other hall more inwarde then the porche wc was of the ſame worke. Alſo Salomón made an houſe for Pharaohs daughter ( * whome he had taken to wife) like vnto this porche.
.9 All " theſe were f of coſtely ſtones, hewed by meaſure, and ſawed with ſawes within and without, from the fundacion vnto the ſtones of an " hand breadth, & on the outſide to the great courte.
.10 And the fundació was of coſtely ſtones, & great ſtones, euen of ſtones of ten cubites, and ſtones of eight cubites.
.11 g Aboue alſo were coſtely ſtones, ſquared by rule, and boardes of cedre.
.12 ¶ And the great courte round about was with thre rowes of hewed ſtones, and a rowe of cedre beames: h ſo was it to the inner courte of the houſe of the Lord, & to the porche of the houſe.
.13 ¶ Then King Salomón ſent, and fet one Hirám out of " Tyrus.
.14 He was a widowes ſonne of the tribe of Naphtalí, his father being a má of Tyrus, and wroght in braſſe: i he was ful of wiſdome, and vnderſtáding, & knowledge to worke all maner of worke in braſſe: who came to King Salomón, and wroght all his worke.
.15 ¶ For he caſt two pillers of braſſe: the height of a piller was eightene cubites, & a threade of twelue cubites did compaſſe " ether of the pillers.
.16 And he made two " chapiters of molten braſſe to ſet on the toppes of the pillers: the height of one of the chapiters was fiue cubites, and the height of the other chapiter was fiue cubites.
.17 He made grates like networke, & " writhé worke like chaines for the chapiters that were on the toppe of the pillers, euen ſeuen for the one chapiter, & ſeuen for the other chapiter.
.18 So he made the pillers and two rowes of pomegranates rounde about in the one grate to couer the chapiters that were vpon the toppe. And thus did he for the other chapiter.
.19 And the chapiters that were on ye toppe of the pillers were after k lilye worke in the porche, foure cubites.
.20 And the chapiters vpon the two pillers had alſo aboue, " ouer againſt the bellie " within ye networke pomegranates: for two hundreth pomegranates were in the two rankes about vpó " ether of the chapiters.
.21 And he ſet vp the pillers in the l porche of ye Temple. And when he had ſet vp the right piller, he called the name thereof m Iachín: and when he had ſet vp the left piller, he called the name thereof n Bóaz.
.22 And vpon the top of the pillers was worke of lilyes: ſo was the workemanſhip of the pillers finiſhed.
.23 ¶ And he made a molten o ſea ten cubites wide from brim to brim, round in compaſſe, and fiue cubites hie, and a line of thirtie cubites did compaſſe it about.
.And vnder the brim of it were knoppes like wilde cucumers compaſsing it roũde about, ten in one cubite, compaſsing the ſea * rounde about: and the two rowes of knoppes were caſt, when it was molten.
.It ſtode on twelue bulles, thre loking towarde the North, and thre towarde the Weſt, and thre towarde the South, & thre towarde the Eaſt: and the ſea ſtode aboue vpon them, & all their hinder partes were inwarde.
.It was " an hand breadth thicke, and the brim thereof was like the worke of the brim of a cup with flowres of lilies: it cõteined two thouſand p Baths.
.¶ And he made ten baſes of braſſe, one baſe was foure cubites long, and foure cubites broade, and thre cubites hie.
.¶ And yt worke of the baſes was on this maner, Thei had borders, and the borders were betwene the ledges:
.And on the borders that were betwene the ledges, were lyons, bulles and Cherubims: and vpon the ledges there was a baſe aboue: and beneth the lyons, and bulles were addicions made of thinne worke.
.And euery baſe had foure braſen wheles, and plates of braſſe: and the foure corners " had vnderſetters: vnder the caldrõ were vnderſetters molten at the ſide of euery addicion.
.And q the mouth of it was within the chapiter and aboue to meaſure by the cubite: for the mouth thereof was rounde made like a baſe, & it was a cubite & halfe a cubite: & alſo vpon the mouth thereof were grauen workes, whoſe borders were foure ſquare, & not rounde.
.And vnder the borders were foure wheles, and the axeltrees of the wheles ioyned to the baſe; and the height of a whele was a cubite and halfe a cubite.
.And the facion of the wheles was like the facion of a charet whele, their axeltrees, and their naues and their " felloes, & their ſpokes were all molten.
.And foure vnderſetters were vpon the foure corners of one baſe: & the vnderſetters thereof were of the baſe it ſelfe.
.And in the toppe of the baſe was a roũde compaſſe of halfe a cubite hie roũde about: and vpon the toppe of the baſe the ledges thereof and the borders thereof r were of the ſame.
.And vpon the tables of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof he did graue Cherubims, lyons and palmetrees, on the ſide of euery one, and addicions rounde about.
.Thus made he the ten baſes, Thei had all one caſting, one meaſure, and one ſyſe.
.¶ Then made he s ten caldrons of braſſe, one caldron conteined fourtie Baths: and euery caldron was foure cubites, one caldron was vpon one baſe throughout the ten baſes.
.And he ſet the baſes, fiue on the right ſide of the houſe, & fiue on the left ſide of the houſe. And he ſet the ſea on the right ſide of the t houſe Eaſtwarde towarde ye South.
.¶ And ¶ And Hirám made caldrons, and beſomes and baſens, & Hirám finiſhed all the worke that he made to King Salomón for the houſe of the Lord:
.To wit, two pillers and two bowles of the chapiters that were on the toppe of the two pillers, and two grates to couer the two bowles of the chapiters which were vpon the toppe of the pillers,
.And foure hundreth pomegranates for the two grates, euē two rowes of pomegranates for euerie grate to couer the two bowles of the chapiters, that were vpon the pillers.
.And the ten baſes, & ten caldrons vpon the baſes,
.And the ſea, & twelue bulles vnder that ſea,
.And pottes, and beſoms and baſens: & all theſe veſſels, which * u Hirám made to King Salomón for the houſe of the Lord, were of ſhining braſſe.
.In the plaine of Iordén did ye King caſt thē in " clay betwene Succóh & Zarthán.
.And Salomón left to weigh all the veſſels becauſe of the exceding abundance, nether colde the weight of the braſſe be counted.
.So Salomón made all the veſſels that perteined vnto the houſe of the Lord, the * golden altar, and the golden table, whereon the ſhewbread was,
.And the candelſtickes, fiue at the right ſide, and fiue at the left, before the oracle of pure golde, and the flowres, and the lāpes, and the ſnoffers of golde,
.And the bowles, y and the hookes, and the baſens, & the ſpoones, & the aſhpanne of pure golde, and the hinges of golde for the dores of the houſe within, euen for the moſt holy place, and for the dores of the houſe, to wit, of the Temple.
.So was finiſhed all the worke that King Salomón made for ye houſe of the Lord, and Salomón broght in the things which * Dauid his father had dedicated: ye ſiluer, and the golde and the veſſels, and layed them among the treaſures of the houſe of the Lord.
