1 The buylding of the Temple and the forme thereof. 12 The promes of the Lord to Salomon.
1.ANd * in the foure hundreth and foure ſcore yere (after the children of Iſraél were come out of the land of Egypt) and in the fourth yere of the reigne of Salomón ouer Iſraél, in the moneth a Zif, (which is the ſeconde moneth) he buylt the b houſe of the Lord.
2.And the houſe which Kīg Salomón buylt for the Lord, was thre ſcore cubites long, & twentie broade, and thirty cubites hie.
3.And the c porche before the Temple of the houſe was twentie cubites long according to the breadth of the houſe, and ten cubites broade before the houſe.
4.And in the houſe he made windowes, " broade without, and narowe within.
5.And by the wall of the houſe he made " galleries rounde about, euen by the walles of the houſe rounde about the Téple and d the oracle, and made chambres rounde about.
6.The nethermoſt gallerie was fiue cubites broade, and the middlemoſt ſix cubites broade, & the thirde ſeuē cubites broade: for he made e reſtes rounde about without the houſe, that the beames ſhulde not be faſtened in the walles of the houſe.
7.And whe the houſe was buylt, it was buylt of ſtone perfit, before it was broght, ſo that there was nether hammer, nor axe, nor any toole of yron heard in the houſe, while it was in buylding.
8.The dore of the middle " chambre was in the right ſide of the houſe, & men went vp with winding ſteires into the middlemoſt, and out of the middlemoſt into the third.
9.So he buylt the f houſe and finiſhed it, & cieled the houſe being vawted with cieling of cedar trees.
10.And he buylt the galleries vpon all the wall of the houſe of fiue cubites height, & they were ioyned to the houſe with beames of cedar.
11.And the worde of the Lord came to Salomón, ſaying,
12.Cõcerning this houſe which thou buildeſt, if thou wilt walke in mine ordinãces, and execute my iudgements, and kepe all my commandements, to walke in them, then wil I performe vnto thee my promeſ, * which I g promiſed to Dauid thy father.
13.And I wil dwel among the children of Iſraél, and wil not forſake my people Iſraél.
14.So Salomón buylt the houſe and finiſhed it,
15.And buylt the walles of the houſe within, with bordes of cedre tre from the pauement of the houſe vnto h the walles of the cieling, and within he couered them with wood and couered the floore of the houſe with plankes of firre.
16.And he buylt twentie cubites in the ſides of the houſe with bordes of cedre, frõ the floore to the walles, and he prepared a place within it for ye oracle, euen the moſte holy place.
17.But the houſe, that is, the temple before it was fourtie cubites i long.
18.And the cedre of the houſe within was kerued with " knoppes, and grauen with flowres: all was cedre, ſo that no ſtone was ſene.
19.¶ Alſo he prepared the place of the oracle in the middes of the k houſe within, to ſet the Arke of the couenant of the Lord there.
20.And the place of the oracle within was twentie cubites long, and twentie cubites broad, and twentie cubites hie, and he couered it with pure golde, and couered the altar with cedre.
21.So Salomón couered the houſe within with pure golde: and he n ſhut the place of the oracle with chaines of golde, and couered it with golde.
22.And he ouerlaied the houſe with golde, vntil all the houſe was made perfit. alſo he couered ye whole altar, that was before the oracle, with golde l
23.And within the oracle he made two Cherubíms of " oliue tre,ten cubites hie.
24.The wing alſo of the one Cherúb was fiue cubites,& the wing of the other Cherúb was fiue cubites : from the vttermoſt parte of one of his wings vnto the vttermoſt parte of the other of his wings, were ten cubites.
25.Alſo the other Cherúb was of ten cubites:bothe ye Cherubíms were of one meaſure and one ſyſe.
26.For the height of the one Cherúb was ten cubites, and ſo was the other Cherúb.
27.And he put the Cherubíms within the inner houſe, * and the Cherubíms ſtretched out their wings,ſo that the wing of ye one touched the one wall , and the wing of the other Cherúb touched the other wall: and their other wings touched one another in the middes of the houſe.
28.And he m ouerlaied the Cherubíms with golde.
29.And he carued all the walles of ye houſe round about with grauen figures of Cherubíms and of palme trees, and grauen flowres within and without.
30.And the floore of the houſe he couered with golde within and without.
31.An in the entring of the oracle he made two dores of oliue tre: and the vpper poſte & ſide poſtes were fiue ſquare.
32.The two dores alſo were of oliue tre, & he graued them with grauing of Cherubíms and palme trees,and grauen flowres, and couered thẽ with golde,& laied n thin golde vpon the Cherubíms and vpon the palme trees.
33.And ſo made he for the dore of the Temple poſtes of oliue tre foure ſquare.
34.But the two dores were of firre tre, the two ſides of the one dore were " rounde, & the two ſides of ye other dore were roũd.
35.And he graued Cherubíms, and palme trees and carued flowres and couered the carued wórke with golde, finely wroght.
36.¶ And he buylt the court within with thre rowes of hewed ſtone, and one rowe of beames of cedár.
37.In the fourth yere was the fundacion of the houſe of the Lord laied in the mo- neth of Zif:
38.And in the eleuenth yere in the moneth of p Bul, (which is the eight moneth) he finiſhed the houſe with all the furniture thereof, and in euerie point: ſo was he ſeuẽ yere in buylding it.
