Genesis 33

4. Eſau and Iaakób mete and are agreed. 11. Eſau receiueth his gifts. 19 Iaakób byeth a poſſeßion, 20. And buyldeth an altar.
1.AND as Iaakób lift vp his eies, and a loked, beholde, Eſau came, and with him foure hundreth men: and he deuided the children to Leáh, and to Rahél, and to the two maides.
2.And he put the maides, & their children formoſt, and Leáh and her children after, and Rahél, and Ioſeph hindermoſt.
3.So he went before them and b bowed him ſelfe to the grounde ſeuen times, vntil he came nere to his brother.
4.Then Eſau ran to mete him and embraced him, and fel on his necke and kiſſed him, and thei wept.
5.And he lift vp his eies, and ſawe the women, and the children, and ſaid, Who are theſe with thee? And he anſwered, The: are ye childrẽ whome God of his grace hathe giuen thy ſeruant.
6.Then came ye maides nere, thei, and their children, and bowed them ſelues.
7.Leáh alſo with her children came nere and made obeiſance: and after Ioſeph & Rahél drewe nere and did reuerence.
8.Then he ſaid, What meaneſt thou by all this droue, which I met? Who anſwered, I haue ſent it, that I maie finde fauour in ye ſight of my lord.
9.And Eſau ſaid, I haue ynough, my brother: kepe that thou haſt to thy ſelfe.
10.But Iaakób anſwered, Nay, I pray thee: if I haue founde grace now in thy ſight, then receiue my preſent at mine hand: for d I haue ſene thy face, as thogh I had ſene the face of God, becauſe thou haſt accepted me.
11.I praie thee take my " bleſsing, that is broght thee: for God hathe had mercie on me, & therefore I haue all things: ſo he e compelled him, and he toke it.
12.And he ſaid, Let vs take our iourney & go, and I wil go before thee.
13.Then he anſwered him, My lord knoweth, that the children are tendre, and the ewes & kine with yong vnder mine hád: & if thei ſhulde ouerdriue them one day, all the flocke wolde dye.
14.Let now my lord go before his ſeruát, and I wil driue ſoftly, according to the paſſe of the cattel, which is before me, and as the children be able to endure, vntil f I come to my lord vnto Seir.
15.Then Eſau ſaid, I wil leaue the ſome of my folke with thee. And he anſwered, What nedeth this? let me finde grace in the ſight of my lord.
16.¶ So Eſau returned, and went his way that ſame day vnto Seír.
17.And Iaakób went forwarde towarde Succóth, & buylt him an houſe, and made boothes for his cattel: therefore he called the name of the place " Succóth.
18.¶ Afterwarde, Iaakób came ſafe to Shechém a citie, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from "Padan Arám, and pitched before the citie.
19.And there he boght a parcel of groũde, where he pitched his tent, at the hand of the ſonnes of Hamór Shechems father, for an hundreth " pieces of money.
20.And he ſet vp there an altar, and called g it, the mightie God of Iſraél.
