The womã ſeduced by the ſerpẽt, 6 Entiſeth her houſbãd to ſinne. 14 They thre are puniſhed 15 Chriſt is promiſed 19 Man is duft. 22 Man is caſt out of paradiſe.
.NOw * the ſerpent was more a ſubtil then anie beaſt of the field, which ye Lord God had made: and he b ſaid to the woman, Yea, hathe God in dede ſaid, Ye ſhal not eat of euerie tre of the garden?
.And the woman ſaid vnto the ſerpẽt, We eat of the frute of the trees of the garden,
.But of the frute of the tre, which is in the middes of the garden, God hathe ſaid, Ye ſhal not eat of it, nether ſhal ye touche it, c left ye dye.
.Then * the ſerpent ſaid to the woman, Ye ſhal not d dye at all,
.But God doeth knowe, that when ye ſhal eat thereof, your eyes ſhalbe opened, & ye ſhalbe as gods, e knowing good and euil.
.So the woman (ſeing that the tre was good for meat, and that it was pleaſant to the eyes, & a tre to be deſired to get knowledge) toke of the frute thereof, and did * eat, and gaue alſo to her houſband with her, and he f did eat.
.Then the eyes of them bothe were opened, & they g knewe that they were naked, and they ſewed figtre leaues together, and made them ſelues " breeches.
.¶ Afterwarde they heard the voyce of the Lord God walking in the garden in the " coole of the day, and the man and his wife h hid them ſelues from the preſence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
.But the Lord God called to the man, and ſaid vnto him, Where art thou?
.Who ſaid, I heard thy voyce in the garden, and was afraied : becauſe I was k naked, therefore I hid my ſelf.
.And he ſaid, Who tolde thee, that thou waſt naked? Haſt thou eaten of the tre, whereof I cõmanded thee that thou ſhuldeſt not eat in no caſe?
.Then the man ſaid, The woman which thou l gaueſt to be with me, ſhe gaue me of the tre, and I did eat.
.And the Lord God ſaid to the woman, Why haſt thou done this? And the womã ſaid, The ſerpent beguyled me, and I did eat.
.Then the Lord God ſaid to the ſerpẽt, m Becauſe thou haſt done this, thou art curſed aboue all cattel, and aboue euerie beaſt of the field: vpon thy belly ſhalt thou go, and n duſt ſhalt thou eat all the dayes of thy life.
.I wil alſo o put enimitie betwene thee and the womã, & betwene thy ſede & her ſede. He ſhal breake thine p head, & thou ſhalt q bruiſe his heele.
.¶ Vnto the woman he ſaid, I wil greatly increaſe thy r ſorowes, & thy conceptiõs. In ſorowe ſhalt thou bring forthe childrẽ, and thy deſire ſhal be ſubiect to thine houſband, and he ſhal * rule ouer thee.
.¶ Alſo to Adám he ſaid, Becauſe thou haſt obeied the voyce of thy wife, and haſt eaten of the tre (whereof I cõmãded thee, ſaying, Thou ſhalt not eat of it) s curſed is the earth for thy ſake : in ſorowe ſhalt thou eat of it all the dayes of thy life.
.t Thornes alſo, and thyſtles ſhal it bring forthe to thee, and thou ſhalt eat the herbe of the field.
.In the ſweat of thy face ſhalt thou eat bread, til thou returne to the earth : for out of it waſt thou taken, becauſe thou art duſt, and to duſt ſhalt thou returne.
.(And the man called his wiues name Heuáh, becauſe ſhe was the mother of all liuing)
.Vnto Adám alſo and to his wife did the Lord God u make coates of ſkinnes, and clothed them.
.¶ And the Lord God ſaid, x Beholde, the man is become as one of vs, to knowe good and euil. And now leſt he put forthe his hand, and y take alſo of the tre of life and eat and liue for euer,
.Therefore y Lord God ſent him forthe from the garden of Eden, to til the earth, whence he was taken.
.Thus he caſt out man, and at the Eaſtſide of the garden of Eden he ſet the Cherubíms, and the blade of a ſworde ſhaken, to kepe the waye of the tre of life.
