Genesis 14

12 In the ouerthrowe of Sodóm Lot is taken priſoner. 16 Abram deliuereth him. 18 Melchi-zedek commeth to mete him. 23 Abrá wolde not be enriched by the King of Sodom.
1.ANd in the daies of Amraphél King of a Shinár, Arióch King of Ellaſár, Che-dor-laómer King of Elám , and Tidál King of the b nacions:
2.Theſe men made warre with Berá King of Sodóm,& with Birſhá King of Gomo-ráh,Shináb King of Admáh,and Sheme-bér King of Zeboím , and the King of Belá which is Zóar.
3.All theſe c ioyned together in the vale of " Siddím,which is the d ſalte Sea.
4.Twelue yeres were they ſubiect to Che-dor-laómer, but in yͤ thirtenthe yere they rebelled.
5.And in the fourtenth yere came Chedor-laómer, & the Kings that were with him, & ſmote the Rephaíms in Aſhteróth kar- naim, and the Zuzíms in Ham, and the Emims in " Shauéh Kiriatháim.
6.And the Horites in their mount Seir, vnto the plaine of Parán, wc is by ye wildernes.
7.And thei returned and came to En-miſhpat, which is Kadéſh, and ſmote all ye coũtrie of the Amalekites , and alſo the Amorites that dwelled in Hazezon-tamár.
8.Then went out the King of Sodom, & the King of Gomoráh, & ye King of Admáh & ye King of Zeboiím, & the King of Béla, wc is Zóar: and thei ioyned battel with them in the vale of Siddím:
9.To wit,with Cheder-laómer King of Elám, and Tidál King of nacions, and Amraphél King of Shinár, and Arióch King of Ellasár: foure Kings againſt fiue.
10.Now the " vale of Siddím was ful of ſlyme pittes, and ye Kings of Sodóm and Gomoráh fled & fel there: and ye reſidue fled to the mountaine.
11.Then thei toke all the ſubſtance of Sodóm and Gomoráh, and all their vitailes and went their waie.
12.Thei f toke Lot alſo Abrams brothers ſonne and his ſubſtance (for he dwelt at Sodóm) and departed.
13.¶ Then came one that had eſcaped , and tolde Abrám the Ebrewe, which dwelt in ye plaine of Mamré the Amorite, brother of Eſhcól, and brother of Anér, which were confederat with Abrám.
14.When Abrám heard that his brother was taken, g he broght " forthe of them that were borne and broght vp in his houſe, thre hũdreth & eightene, & purſued thẽ vnto Dan,
15.And he, & his ſeruantes diuided them ſelues againſt thẽ by night, & ſmote them and purſued them vnto Hobáh, which is on the left ſide of " Damaſcus,
16.And he recouered all the ſubſtance, and alſo broght againe his brother Lot, and his goods, & the women alſo and ye people.
17.¶ After that he returned frõ the ſlaughter of Chedor-laómer and of the Kings that were with him, came the King of Sodóm forthe to mete him in the valley of Shauéh, which is the * Kings dale.
18.And * Melchi-zédek King of Shalém h broght forthe bread and wine: & he was a Prieſt of the moſte high God,
19.Therfore he i bleſſed him, ſaying, Bleſſed art thou, Abrám, of God moſte high poſſeſſor of heauen and earth,
20.And bleſſed be the moſte high God, wc hathe deliuered thine enemies into thine hand. * And Abrám gaue him tithe of all.
21.Then the King of Sodóm ſaid to Abrám, Giue me the " perſonnes, and take ye goods to thy ſelfe.
22.And Abrám ſaid to the King of Sodóm, " I haue lift vp mine hand vnto the Lord the moſte high God poſſeſſor of heauen and earth,
23." That I wil not take of all that is thine, ſo muche as a threde or ſhoulachet, leſt ye ſhuldeſt ſaie, I haue made Abrám riche,
24.k Saue onely that, which the yong men haue eaten, and the partes of the men wc wẽt with me, Anér, Eſhcól, and Mamré: let them take their partes.
