.But the princes of the Philiſtíms were wrothe with him, & the princes of the Philiſtíms ſaid vnto him, * Send this fellowe backe, that he may go againe to his place which thou haſt appointed him, & let him not go downe with vs to battel, leſt that in the battel he be an aduerſarie to vs: for wherewith ſhulde he obteine the fauour of his maſter? ſhulde it not be with the c heads of theſe men?
.Is not this Dauid, of whome they ſang in dances, ſaying, * Saúl ſlewe his thouſand, and Dauid his ten thouſand?
.¶ The Achíſh called Dauid, & ſaid vnto him, As the Lord liueth, thou haſt bene vpright and good in my fight, when thou d wenteſt out and in with me in the hoſte, nether haue I founde euil with thee, ſince yͤ cameſt to me vnto this daye, but the princes do not fauour thee.
.Wherefore now returne. and go in peace, that thou diſpleaſe not the princes of the Philiſtíms.
.And Dauid ſaid vnto Achíſh, But what haue I done? and what haſt thou founde in thy ſeruant as long as I haue bene with thee vnto this day, that I may e not go & fight againſt the enemies of my lord the King?
.Achíſh thé anſwered, and ſaid to Dauid, I knowe thou pleaſeſt me, as an Angel of God:
.Wherefore now riſe vp early in ye morning with thy f maſters ſeruants that are come with thee : and when ye be vp early, aſſone as ye haue light, departe.
