Joshua 11

Diuers Kings and cities, and countreis ouercome by Ioſhúa. 15 Ioſhúa did all that Moſes had commanded him 20 God hardeneth the enemies heartes that they might be deſtroyed.
.ANd when Iabín King of Hazór had heard this, then he a ſent to Iobáb King of Madón, and to the King of Shimrón, and to the King of Achſháph,
.And vnto the Kings that were by the North in the mountaines, and plaines towarde the Southſide of b Cinneróth, and in the valleis, and in the borders of Dor Weſtwarde,
.And vnto the Canaanites, bothe by Eaſt, and by Weſt, and vnto the Amorites, and Hittites, and Perizzites, and Iebuſites in the mountaines, and vnto the Hiuites vnder c Hermón in the land of Mizpéh.
.And they came out and all their hoſtes with them, many people as the ſand that is on the ſeaſhore for multitude, with horſes and charets exceding many.
.So all theſe Kings met together, & came and pitched together at the waters of Meróm, for to fight againſt Iſraél.
.¶ The the Lord ſaid vnto Ioſhúa, Be not afraid for them: for to morowe about this time wil I deliuer them all ſlayne before Iſraél: thou ſhalt d hough their horſes, & burne their charets with fire.
.Then came Ioſhúa and all the men of warre with him againſt them by the waters of Meróm ſodenly, and fel vpon them.
.And the Lord gaue them into the hand of Iſraél: and they ſmote them, and chaſed them vnto great Zidón, and vnto e Miſrephóthmaim, and vnto the valley of Mizpéh Eaſtwarde, & ſmote them vntil thei had none remaining of them.
.And Ioſhúa did vnto them as the Lord bade him: he houghed their horſes, and burnt their charets with fire.
.¶ At that time alſo Ioſhúa turned backe, and toke Hazór, and ſmote the King thereof with the ſworde: for Hazór beforetime was the head of all thoſe kingdomes.
.Moreouer thei ſmote all the f perſones that were therein with the edge of the ſworde, vtterly deſtroying all, leauing none aliue, and he burnt Hazór with fire.
.So all the cities of thoſe Kings, and all the Kings of them did Ioſhúa take, and ſmote thẽ with the edge of the ſworde, & vtterly vtterly deſtroyed them, * as Moſés the ſeruant of the Lord had commanded.
.But Iſraél burnt none of the cities that ſtode ſtill in their g ſtrength, ſaue Hazór onely, that Ioſhúa burnt.
.And all the ſpoyle of theſe cities and the cattel the children of Iſraél toke for their praye, but they ſmote euerie h man with the edge of ye ſworde vntil they had deſtroyed them, not leauing one a liue.
.¶ As the Lord * had comanded Moſés his ſeruát, ſo did Moſés * comande Ioſhúa, & ſo did Ioſhúa: he left nothig vndone of all that the Lord had commanded Moſés.
.So Ioſhúa toke all this land of the mountaines, and all the South, and all the lád of Goſhén and the lowe countrey, and the plaine, & the i mountaine of Iſraél, and the lowe countrey of the ſame,
.From the mount k Halák, that goeth vp to Seír, euen vnto " Baal-gád in ye valley of Lebanón, vnder mount Hermón: and all their Kings he toke, and ſmote them, and ſlewe them.
.Ioſhúa made warre long time with all thoſe Kings,
.Nether was there any citie that made peace with the children of Iſraél, * ſaue thoſe Hiuites that inhabited Gibeón: all other they toke by battel.
.For it came of the Lord, to l harden their heartes that they ſhulde come againſt Iſraél in battel to the intent that they ſhulde deſtroy them vtterly, and ſhewe them no mercy, but that they ſhulde bring them to noght: as the Lord had cōmanded Moſés.
.¶ And that ſame ſeaſon came Ioſhúa, and deſtroyed the Anakíms out of the mountaines: as out of Hebrón, out of Debír, out of Anáb, and out of all the mountaines of Iudáh, and out of all the mountaines of Iſraél: Ioſhúa deſtroyed them vtterly with their cities.
.There was no Anakím left in the land of the children of Iſrael: onely in Azzáh, m in Gath, and in Aſhdód were they left.
.So Ioſhúa toke the whole land, according to all that the Lord had ſaid vnto Moſés: and Ioſhúa gaue it for an inheritance vnto Iſraél * according to their porcions through their tribes: then the land was at reſt without warre.
