Deuteronomy 32

The ſong of Moſes cõteining Gods benefites toward the people. 15 And their ingratitude toward him 20 God menaceth them. 21 And ſpeaketh of the vocation of the Gentiles. 46 Moſes commandeth to teache the Lawe to the childrẽ: 49 God forewarneth Moſes of his death.
.HEarken, ye a heauẽs, and I wil ſpeake: and let the earth heare the wordes of my mouth.
.My b doctrine ſhal drop as the raine, and my ſpeache ſhal ſtil as doeth the dewe, as the ſhowre vpon the herbes, and as the great raine vpon the graſſe.
.For I wil publiſhe the Name of ye Lord: giue ye glorie vnto our God.
.Perfect is ye worke of the c mighty God: for all his wayes are iudgement. God is true, and without wickednes: iuſt, & righteous is he.
.They haue corrupted them ſelues toward him by their vice, not being his children, but a frowarde and crooked generacion.
.Do ye ſo rewarde ye Lord, ô fooliſh people and vnwiſe? is not he thy father, that hathe boght thee? he hathe d made thee, and proportioned thee.
.¶ Remember the dayes of olde: conſider the yeres of ſo manie generaciõs: aske thy father, and he wil ſhewe thee: thine Elders, and they wil tel thee.
.Whẽ the moſt hie God deuided to the nacions their inheritance, when he ſeparated ye ſonnes of Adám, he appointed the borders of the e people according to the nomber of the children of Iſraél.
.For the Lords porcion is his people: Iaakób is the lot of his inheritance.
.He founde him in the land of the wildernes, in a waſte, and roaring wildernes: he led him about, he taught him, and kept him as the apple of his eye.
.As an eagle ſtereth vp her neſt, f flotereth ouer her birdes, ſtretcheth out her wings, taketh them, and beareth them on her wings,
.So the Lord alone led him and there was no " ſtrange god with him.
.He caried him vp to the hie places of the g earth, that he might eat ye frutes of the fields, and he cauſed him to ſucke h hony out of the ſtone and oyle out of the hard rocke:
.Butter of kine, and milke of ſhepe with fat of the lambs, and rams fed in Baſhán, and goates, with the fat of the graines of wheat, and the red " licour of the grape haſt thou dronke.
.¶ But he that ſhulde haue bene i vpright, when he waxed fat, ſpurned with his hele: thou art fat, thou art groſſe, thou art laden with fatnes: therefore he forſoke God that made him, and regarded not the ſtrõg God of his ſaluacion.
.They prouoked him with k ſtrange gods: they prouoked him to angre with abominacions.
.They offred vnto deuils, not to God, but to gods whome they knewe not: newe l
.Thou haſt forgotten the mightie God, that begate thee, & haſt forgottẽ God that formed thee.
.The Lord then ſawe it, and was angry, for the prouocacion of his m ſonnes and of his daughters.
.And he ſaid, I wil hide my face frõ thẽ; I wil ſe what their end ſhalbe: for they are a frowarde generacion, childrẽ in whome is no faith.
.They haue moued me to ielouſie with that which is not God: they haue prouoked me to angre with their vanities : * and I wil moue them to ielouſie with thoſe which are no n people : I wil prouoke them to angre with a fooliſh nacion.
.For fire is kindled in my wrath, & ſhal burne vnto the bottome of hel, & ſhal cõfume the earth with her increaſe, & ſet on fire the fundacions of the mountaines.
.I wil ſpend plagues vpon them: I wil beſtowe mine arrowes vpon them.
.They ſhalbe burnt with hunger, and conſumed with heat, and with bitter deſtruction: I wil alſo ſend the teeth of beaſtes vpon them, with the venime of ſerpents creping in the duſt.
.The ſworde ſhal o kil them without, and in the chambers feare bothe the yong mã and the yong woman, the ſuckeling with the man of graye heere.
.I haue ſaid, I wolde ſcatter thẽ abroade: I wolde make their remembrance to ceaſe from among men,
.Saue that I feared the furie of the enemie, leſt their aduerſaries ſhulde p waxe proude, & leſt they ſhulde ſay, Our hye hand & not the Lord hathe done all this.
.For they are a nacion voyde of counſel, nether is there anie vnderſtanding in thẽ.
.Oh that they were wiſe, then they wolde vnderſtãd this: they wolde cõſider q their later end.
.Howe ſhulde one chaſe a thouſand, and two put tẽ thouſãd to flight, except their ſtrong God had ſolde them, & the Lord had " ſhut them vp?
.For their god is not as our God, euen our enemies being iudges.
.For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, & of the vines of Gomoráh: their grapes are grapes of gall, their cluſters be bitter.
.Their r wine is the poyſon of dragons, and the cruel gall of aſpes.
.Is not this laid in ſtore with me, & ſealed vp among my treaſures?
.* Vengeance and recompenſe are mine: their fote ſhal ſlide in due time : for the daye of their deſtruction is at hand, and the things that ſhal come vpon them, make haſte.
.For the Lord ſhal iudge his people, and " repent toward his ſeruants, when he ſeeth that their power is gone, and none s ſhut vp in holde nor left abroad.
.When men ſhal ſay, Where are their gods, their mightie God in whome they truſted?
.Which did eat the fat of their ſacrifices, and did drinke the wine of their drinke offrings? let them riſe vp, and helpe you: let him be your refuge.
.Beholde now, for I, I am he, and there is no gods with me: * I kil, and giue life: I wounde, & I make whole: * nether is there anie that can deliuer out of mine hand.
.For I t lift vp mine hand to heauen, & ſay, I liue for euer.
.If I whet my glittering ſworde, and mine hand take holde on iudgement, I wil execute vengeance on mine enemies, and wil rewarde them that hate me.
.I wil make mine arrowes dronke with blood, (and my ſworde ſhal eat fleſh) for the blood of the ſlaine, & of the captiues, when I beginne to take vengeance of the enemie.
.* Ye nations, praiſe his people: for he wil auenge the u blood of his ſeruants, and wil execute vengeance vpon his aduerſaries, and wil be merciful vnto his land, and to his people.
.¶ Then Moſes came and ſpake all the wordes of this ſong in the audience of the people, he and " Hoſhéa the ſunne of Nun.
.When Moſes had made an end of ſpeaking all theſe wordes to all Iſraél,
.Then he ſaid vnto them, * Set your heartes vnto all the wordes which I teſtifie againſt you this day, that ye may cõmande them vnto your childrẽ, that they may obſerue and do all the wordes of this Lawe.
.For it is no x vaine worde concerning you, but it is your life, and by this worde ye ſhal prolong your dayes in the land, whether ye go ouer Iordén to poſſeſſe it.
.* And the Lord ſpake vnto Moſes the ſelfe ſame day, ſaying,
.Go vp into this mountaine of Abarím, vnto ŷ mount Nebó, which is in the land of Moáb, that is ouer againſt Ierichó: and beholde the land of Canáan, which I giue vnto ŷ children of Iſraél for a poſſeſſion,
.And dye in the moũt which thou goeſt vp vnto, and thou ſhalt be * gathered vn-to thy people, * as Aarón thy brother dyed in moũt Hor, and was gathered vn-to his people,
.Becauſe ye * treſpaſſed againſt me amõg the children of Iſraél, at the waters " of Meribáh, at Kadéſh in the wildernes of Zin: for ye y ſanctified me not among the children children of Iſraél.
.Thou ſhalt therefore ſe the land before thee, but ſhalt not go thither, I meane, into yͤ land which I giue the childré of Iſraél.
