Deuteronomy 30

1 Mercie shewed when thei repent. 6 The Lord doeth circumciſe the heart 11 All excuſe of ignorance is taken away. 19 Life and death is ſet before thē. 20 The Lord is their life which obey him.
1.NOw whē all theſe things ſhal come vpon thee, ether the bleſsing or the curſe which I haue ſet before thee, and yu ſhalt a turne into thine heart, among all ye nacions whether the Lord thy God hathe driuen thee,
2.And ſhalt returne vnto ye Lord thy God, and obey his voyce in all that I commāde thee this day: thou, & thy children with all thine b heart and with all thy ſoule,
3.Then ye Lord thy God wil cauſe thy captiues to returne, and haue compaſsion vpon thee, & wil returne, to gather thee out of all the people, where ye Lord thy God had ſcattered thee.
4.Thogh thou wereſt caſt vnto the vtmoſt parte of heauen, from thence wil ye Lord c gather thee, & from thence wil he d take thee,
5.And the Lord thy God wil bring thee into the land which thy fathers poſſeſſed, and thou ſhalt poſſeſſe it, and he wil ſhewe thee fauour, and wil multiplie thee aboue thy fathers.
6.And the Lord thy God wil e circumciſe thine heart, and the heart of thy ſede, that thou maiſt loue the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy ſoule, that thou maiſt liue.
7.And the Lord thy God wil lay all theſe curſes vpon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, and that perſecute thee.
8.f Returne thou therefore, & obey the voice of the Lord, & do all his commandements, which I commande thee this day.
9.And ye Lord thy God wil make thee plēteous in euerie worke of thine hand, in ye frute of thy body, and in the frute of thy cattel, and in the frute of the land for thy welth: for ye Lord wil turne againe & g reioyce ouer thee to do thee good, as he reioyced ouer thy fathers,
10.Becauſe thou ſhalt obey the voyce of the Lord thy God, in keping his commādements, & his ordināces, which are written in the boke of this Lawe, when thou ſhalt returne vnto the Lord thy God with all thine heart & with all thy ſoule.
11.For this commandement which I commande thee this day, is h not hid frō thee, nether is it farre of.
12.It is not in heauē, that thou ſhuldeſt ſay, * Who ſhal go vp for vs to heauen, and bring it vs, and cauſe vs to heare it, that we may do it?
13.Nether is it beyonde the i ſea, that thou
14.But the k worde is verie nere vnto thee: euen in thy mouth & in thine heart, for to l do it.
15.Beholde, I haue set before thee this day life & good, death and euil.
16.In that I commande thee this day, m to loue the Lord thy God, to walke in his wayes, & to kepe his commandements, & his ordinances, & his lawes n that thou maiest liue & be multiplied, and that the Lord thy God may blesse thee in the land, whether thou goest to possesse it.
17.But if thine heart turne away, so that yͧ wilt not obey, but shalt be seduced & worship other gods, and serue them,
18.I pronounce vnto you this day that ye shal surely perish, ye shal not prológ your dayes in the lád whether thou passest ouer Iordén to possesse it.
19.I call heauen & earth to recorde this day against you, that I haue set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. therfore o chose life, that bothe thou & thy sede may liue,
20.By louing the Lord thy God, by obeyíg his voyce, & by cleauing vnto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy dayes: that thou maist dwel in the land which the Lord sware vnto thy fathers, Abrahám, Izhák and Iaakób, to giue them.

If we wil haue God to worke in vs with his holy Spirit, we muſt turne againe to him by repentance.

He meaneth not that God is ſubiect to theſe paſsiōs, to reioyce or to be ſad: but he vſeth this maner of ſpeache to declare the loue yt he beareth vnto vs.

The Law is ſo euidēt that none can pretend ignorance,

So that to loue & obey God, is onely life & felicitie

He addeth these promises to signifie that it is for our profit yͧ we loue him, & not for his.

That is, loue & obey God: which thing is not in má̃s power, but Gods spirit onely worketh it in his elect.
