Deuteronomy 22

He commandeth to haue care of our neighbours goods. 5 The woman may not weare mans apparel, nor man the womans. 6 Of the dam and her yong birdes. 8 Why they ſhulde haue batelments. 9 Not to mixe diuers kynds together. 13 Of the wife not being founde a virgine. 22 The puniſhement of adulterie.
.THou * ſhalt not ſe thy brothers oxe nor his ſhepe go aſtray, and a with-drawe thy ſelfe from them, but ſhalt bring them againe vnto thy brother.
.And if thy brother be not b nere vnto thee, or if thou knowe him not, then yu ſhalt bring it into thine houſe, and it ſhal re-maine with thee, vntil thy brother ſeke af-ter it: then ſhalt thou deliuer it to him againe.
.In like maner ſhalt yu do with his c aſſe, and ſo ſhalt thou do with his raiment, and ſhalt ſo do with all loſte things of thy brother, which he hathe loſte: if thou haſt found them, thou ſhalt not withdrawe thy ſelfe from them.
.¶ Thou ſhalt not ſe thy brothers aſſe nor his oxe fall downe by the way, and with-draw thy ſelfe from them, but ſhalt lifte them vp with him.
.¶ The d woman ſhal not weare that which perteineth vnto the man, nether ſhal a man put on womans raiment: for all that do ſo, are abominacion vnto the Lord thy God.
.¶ If thou finde a birdes neſt in the way, in anie tre, or on the ground, whether they be yong or egges, and the dam ſitting vpō the yong, or vpon the egges, e thou ſhalt not take the dam with the yong,
.But ſhalt in anie wiſe let the dam go and take the yong to thee, yt thou maieſt proſ-per and prolong thy dayes.
.¶ Whē thou buyldeſt a newe houſe, thou ſhalt make a batelment on thy roof, that thou lay not blood vpon thine houſe, if a-nie man fall thence.
.¶ Thou ſhalt not f ſowe thy vineyard with diuers kīdes of ſēdes, leſt thou defile the increaſe of the ſede which thou haſt ſowen, and the frute of the vineyarde.
.¶ Thou ſhalt not plowe with an oxe and an aſſe together.
.¶ Thou ſhalt not weare a garment of di-uers ſortes, as of wollē and linē together.
.* Thou ſhalt make thee fringes vpon the foure quarters of thy veſture, where-with thou couereſt thy ſelfe.
.¶ If a man take a wife, and when he hathe lien with her, hate her,
.And lay g ſlanderous things vnto her charge, and bring vp an euil name vpon her, and ſay, I toke this wife, and when I came to her I founde her not a maid,
.Then ſhalt the father of the maid and her mother take and bring forth the tokens of the damſels virginitie vnto the Elders of the citie in the gate.
.And the maides father ſhal ſay vnto the Elders, I gaue my daughter vnto this má to wife, and he hateth her:
.And lo, he laieth ſlanderous things vnto her charge, ſayīg, I foúd not thy daughter a maid: lo, theſe are tokens of my daughters virginitie : and they ſhal ſpreade ye h veſture before the Elders of the citie.
.Thē the Elders of the citie ſhal take that man and chaſtice him,
.And ſhal condemne him in an hundreth ſhekels of ſiluer, and giue them vnto the fa i ther of ye maid; becauſe he hathe broght vp an euil name vpó a maid of Iſraél: & ſhe ſhalbe his wife, & he may not put her away all his life.
.¶ But if this thing be true, that the maide be not found a virgin,
.Then they ſhal bring forthe the maide to the dore of her fathers houſe, and the men of her citie ſhal ſtone her with ſtones to death: for ſhe hathe wroght follie in Iſraél, by playing the whore in her fathers houſe: ſo thou ſhalt put euil away from among you.
.* If a man be found lying with a womā maried to a man, then they ſhal dye euen bothe twaine: to wit, the man that lay with the wife, and the wife: ſo thou ſhalt put away euil from Iſraél.
.¶ If a maide be betrothed vnto an houſband, and a man finde her in the towne and lie with her,
.Then ſhal ye bring them bothe out vnto ye gates of the ſame citie, and ſhal ſtone them with ſtones to death: the maide becauſe ſhe cryed not, being in the citie, and ye man, becauſe he hathe " humbled his neighbours wife: ſo thou ſhalt put away euil from among you.
.¶ But if a man finde a betrothed maide in the field, and force her, and lye with her, then the man that lay with her, ſhal dye alone:
.And vnto the maide thou ſhalt do nothing, becauſe there is in the maide no " cauſe of death: for as when a man riſeth againſt his neighbour and wondeth him to death, ſo k is this matter.
.For he found her in the fields: the betrothed maide cryed, and there was no man to ſuccour her.
.* If a man finde a maide that is not betrothed, and take her, and lye with her, & they be founde,
.Then the man that lay with her, ſhal giue vnto the maides father fifty ſhekels of ſiluer: and ſhe ſhal be his wife, becauſe he hathe humbled her: he can not put her away all his life.
.l No man ſhal take his fathers wife, nor ſhal vncouer his fathers ſkirt.
