The maners of the Gentiles in marking thē selues for the dead, may not be folowed. 4 What meates are cleane to be eaten, and what not. 29 The tithes for the Leuite, stranger, fatherles, and widowe.
.¶ Thou ſhalt eat no maner of abomina-cion.
.The hart, & the roe bucke, and yͤ bugle, and the wilde goat, & the vnicorne, & the wilde oxe, and the chamois.
.And euerie beaſt yͤ parteth the hoofe, and cleaueth yͤ clift into two clawes, and is of yͤ beaſts that cheweth yͤ cud, that ſhal ye eat.
.But theſe ye ſhal not eat, of them that chewe the cud, and of them that deuide & cleaue yͤ hoofe onely: the camel, nor the ha-re, nor the cony: for they chewe the cud, but deuide not the hoofe: therefore they ſhalbe vncleane vnto you:
.Alſo the ſwine, becauſe he deuideth the hoofe, & cheweth not the cud, ſhalbe vn-cleane vnto you: ye ſhal not eat of their fleſh, nor touche their dead carkeiſes.
.And whatſoeuer hathe no finnes nor ſca-les, ye ſhal not eat: it ſhalbe vncleane vn-to you.
.¶ Of all cleane birdes ye ſhal eat:
.But theſe are thei, whereof ye ſhal not eat: yͤ egle, nor yͤ goſhawke, nor yͤ oſprey,
.Nor the glead nor the kite, nor the vul-ture, after their kinde,
.Nor all kinde of rauens,
.Nether the lytle owle, nor the great owle, nor the redſhanke,
.Nor the pellicane, nor the ſwãne, nor yͤ cormorant:
.And euerie creping thing yͤ flieth, ſhalbe vncleane vnto you: it ſhal not be eaten.
.But of all cleane foules ye may eat.
.And thou ſhalt eat before the Lord thy God (in the place which he ſhal choſe to cauſe his Name to dwel there) the tithe of thy corne, of thy wine, and of thine oy-le, and the firſt borne of thy kyne and of thy ſhepe, that thou maieſt learne to fea-re the Lord thy God alway.
.And thou ſhalt beſtowe the money for what ſoeuer thine heart deſireth: whe- ther it be oxe, or ſhepe, or wine or ſtrong drinke, or whatſoeuer thine heart deſireth: and ſhalt eat it there before yͤ Lord thy God, and reioyce, bothe thou, & thine houſholde.
.And the Leuite that is within thy gates, ſhalt thou not forſake: for he hathe neither parte nor inheritance with thee.
.Then the Leuite ſhal come, becauſe he hathe no parte nor inheritance with thee, & the ſtranger, and the fatherles, and the widowe, which are within thy gates, and ſhal eat, and be filled, that the Lord thy God may bleſſe thee in all the worke of thine hand which thou doeſt.
