Leviticus 21

2 For whome the Prieſts may lament. 6 How pure the Prieſts oght to be, bothe in them ſelues and in their families.
1.ANd the Lord ſaid vnto Moſés, Speake vnto the Prieſtes the ſonnes of Aarón, and ſay vnto them, Let none be a defiled by the dead among his people,
2.But by his kinſeman that is nere vnto him: to wit, by his mother, or by his father, or by his ſonne, or by his daughter, or by his brother,
3.Or by his ſiſter a b maid, that is nere vnto him, which hathe not had a houſband: for her " he may lament.
4.He ſhal not lament for the c prince among his people, to pollute him ſelfe.
5.Thei ſhal not make * balde partes vpon their head, nor ſhaue of the lockes of their beard, nor make anie cuttings in their fleſh.
6.They ſhalbe holy vnto their God, and not pollute the Name of their God: for the ſacrifices of ye Lord made by fire, and the bread of their God thei do offer: therefore they ſhalbe holy.
7.Thei ſhal not take to wife an whore, or one polluted, neither ſhal thei marie a wo d man diuorced from her houſband: for ſuche one is holy vnto his God.
8.Thou ſhalt e ſanctifie him therefore, for he offreth the f bread of thy God: he ſhal be holy vnto thee: for I the Lord, which ſanctifie you, am holy.
9.¶ If a Prieſts daughter fall to playe the whore, ſhe polluteth her father: therefore ſhe ſhe be burnt with fire.
10.¶ Alſo ye hie Prieſt among his brethren, (vpon whoſe head the anointing oyle was powred, and hathe conſecrated his hand to put on the garments) ſhal not g vncouer his head, nor rent his clothes,
11.Nether ſhal he go to anie " dead body, nor make him ſelfe vncleane by his father, or by his mother,
12.Nether ſhal he go out of the h Sanctuarie, nor pollute the holy place of his God: for the i croune of the anointing oyle of his God is vpon him: I am the Lord.
13.Alſo he ſhal take a maid vnto his wife:
14.But a widowe, or a diuorced woman, or a polluted, or an harlot, theſe ſhal he not mary, but ſhal take a maid of his owne k people to wife:
15.Nether ſhal he defile his l ſede among his people: for I am the Lord wc ſanctifie him.
16.¶ And ye Lord ſpake vnto Moſés, ſaying,
17.Speake vnto Aarón, and ſay, Whoſoeuer of thy ſede in their generacions hathe anie blemiſhe, ſhal not preace to offer the bread of his God:
18.For whoſoeuer hathe anie blemiſh, ſhal not come nere: as a man blinde or lame, or that hathe m a flat noſe, or that hathe anie n miſſhapen membre,
19.Or a man that hathe a broken fote, or a broken hand,
20.Or is croke backt, or bleare eied, o or hathe a blemiſh in his eie, or be ſkiruie, or ſkabbed ſkabbed, or haue his ſtones broken.
21.None of the ſede of Aarón the Prieſt ȳ hathe a blemiſh, ſhal come nere to offer ȳ ſacrifices of the Lord made by fire, hauing a blemiſh: he ſhal not preace to offer the p bread of his God.
22.The bread of his God, euen of the q moſte holy, and of the holy ſhal he eat:
23.But he ſhal not go in vnto the r vaile, nor come nere the s altar, becauſe he hathe a blemiſh, leſt he pollute my Sanctuaries: for I am the Lord that sanctifie them.
24.Thus ſpake Moſés vnto Aarón, and to his ſonnes, and to all the childré of Iſraél.
