Ezekiel 13

.ANd the worde of the Lord came vnto me, ſaying,
.Sonne of man, prophecie againſt the Prophetes of Iſraél, that prophecie, and ſay thou vnto thẽ, that prophecie out of their owne hearts, Heare the worde of ye Lord.
.Thus ſaith the Lord God, Wo vnto the fooliſh prophetes that followe their owne ſpirit, and haue ſene nothing.
.O Iſraél, thy Prophetes are like the foxes in the waſte places.
.Ye haue not riſen vp in ye gappes, nether made vp the hedge for the houſe of Iſraél, to ſtand in ye battel in the day of the Lord.
.Thei haue ſene vanitie, & lying diuinatiõ, ſaying, The Lord ſaith it, & the Lord hathe not ſent thẽ: & thei haue made others to hope that thei wolde confirme ye worde of their prophecie.
.Haue ye not ſene a vaine viſion? & haue ye not ſpoken a lying diuination? d ye ſay, The Lord ſaith it, albeit I haue not ſpokẽ.
.Therefore thus ſaith the Lord God, Becauſe ye haue ſpoken vanitie & haue ſene lies, therefore beholde, I am againſt you, ſaith the Lord God,
.And mine hand ſhal be vpõ the Prophetes yt ſe vanitie, & deuine lies: thei ſhal not be in the aſſemblie of my people, nether ſhal thei be writtẽ in the writing of the houſe of Iſraél, nether ſhal thei entre into the land of Iſraél: and ye ſhal knowe that I am the Lord God.
.And therefore, becauſe thei haue deceiued my people, ſaying, Peace, &there was no peace: & one buyld vp a wall, & beholde, ye others daubed it wt vntépered morter,
.Say vnto thẽ which dawbe it wt vntempered morter, that it ſhal fall: for there ſhal come a great ſhowre, & I wil ſend haile ſtones, which ſhal cauſe it to fall, and a ſtormie winde ſhal breake it.
.Lo, when the wall is fallen, ſhal it not be ſaid vnto you, Where is ye dawbing wherewith ye haue dawbed it?
.Therefore thus ſaith ye Lord God, I wil cauſe a ſtormie winde to breake forthe in my wrath, & a great ſhowre ſhalbe in mine angre, & haile ſtones in mine indignation to conſume it.
.So I wil deſtroy the wall yt ye haue dawbed with vntẽpered morter, &bring it downe to ye grounde, ſo yt the fundaciõ thereof ſhal be diſcouered, & it ſhal fall, & ye ſhal be conſumed in the middes thereof, & ye ſhal knowe, that I am the Lord.
.Thus wil I accompliſh my wrath vpon the wall, and vpon thē that haue dawbed it with vntempered morter, & wil ſay vnto you, The wall is no more, nether the dawbers thereof.
.To wit, the Prophetes of Iſraél, which prophecie vpon Ieruſalém, and ſe viſions of peace for it, and there is no peace, ſaith the Lord God.
.Likewiſe thou ſonne of man, ſet thy face againſt ye daughters of thy people, which prophecie out of their owne heart: and prophecie thou againſt them, and ſay,
.Thus ſaith the Lord God, Wo vnto the women that ſowe pillowes vnder all arme holes, and make vailes vpon the head of euerie one that ſtādeth vp, to hunt ſoules: wil ye hunt the ſoules of my people, and wil ye giue life to the ſoules that come vnto you?
.And wil ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barlie, & for pieces of bread to ſlay the ſoules of them that ſhulde not dye, and to giue life to the ſoules that ſhuldenot liue in lying to my people, that heare your lies?
.Wherefore thus ſaith the Lord God, Behold, I wil haue to do with your pillowes, wherewith ye hunt ye ſoules to make thē to flie, and I wil teare them from your armes, and wil let the ſoules go, euen the ſoules, that ye hunt to make them to flie.
.Your vailes alſo wil I teare, and deliuer my people out of your hand, and thei ſhal be no more in your handes to be hunted, & ye ſhal knowe that I am the Lord.
.Becauſe with your lyes ye haue made the heart of the righteous ſad, whome I haue not made ſad, and ſtrengthened the hands of the wicked, that he ſhulde not returne from his wicked way, by promiſing him life,
.Therefore ye ſhal ſe no more vanitie, nor diuine diuinations: for I wil deliuer my people out of your hand, & ye ſhal knowe that I am the Lord.
