1 The deſtruction of the Iewes. 4 The Lord moueth the people to amendement. 10 He reprehendeth the lying doctrine & the couetouſnes of the Prophetes & Prieſts.
2.And thei ſhal ſpread thẽ before the ſunne & the moone, and all the hoſte of heauen, whome they haue loued, and whome thei haue ſerued, & whome thei haue followed, & whome thei haue ſoght, and whome thei haue worſhiped: thei ſhal not be gathered nor be buryed, but ſhal be as dung vpon the earth.
5.Wherefore is this people of Ieruſalém turned backe by a perpetual rebellion? thei gaue thẽ ſelues to deceit, & woldenot returne.
11.For thei haue healed ye hurt of ye daughter of &c. of my people with ſwete wordes, ſaying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace.
12.Were thei aſhamed whē they had cōmit ted abominatiō? nay, thei were not aſhamed, nether colde they haue anie ſhame: therefore ſhal they fall among the flaine: when I ſhal viſit them, they ſhalbe caſt downe, ſaith the Lord.
13.I wil ſurely cōſume them, ſaith ye Lord: there ſhalbe no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the figtre, and the leaf ſhal fade, & the things that I haue giuen them, ſhal departe from them.
19.Beholde, the voyce of the crye of ye daughter of my people for feare of thē of a farre countrey, Is not ye Lord in Zión? is not her King in her? Why haue they prouoked me to angre with their grauē images, and with the vanities of a ſtrange god?
20.The harueſt is paſt, the ſomer is ended and we are not holpen.
21.I am ſore vexed for ye hurt of ye daughter of my people: I am heauy, & aſtoniſhment hathe taken me.
22.Is there no balme at Gileád? is there no Phiſició there? Why thē is not ye health of the daughter of my people recouered?
