3 The falſe prophecie of Hananiáh. 12 Ieremiáh reproueth Hananiáh, and prophecieth.
2.Thus ſpeaketh the Lord of hoſtes, the God of Iſraél, ſaying, I haue broken the yoke of the King of Babél.
3.Within two yeres ſpace I wil bring into this place all the veſſels of the Lords Houſe, yͤ Nebuchad-nezzár King of Babél toke away from this place, and caried them into Babél.
4.And I wil bring againe to this place Ieconiáh the ſonne of Iehoiakim King of Iudáh, with all the that were caryed away captiue of Iudáh, and wẽt into Babél, ſaith the Lord: for I wil breake the yoke of the King of Babél.
5.Then the Prophet Ieremiáh ſaid vnto the Prophet Hananiáh in the preſence of the Prieſts, & in the preſence of all the people that ſtode in the Houſe of the Lord.
7.But heare thou now this worde that I wil ſpeake in thine eares and in the eares of all the people.
9.And the Prophet which prophecieth of peace, when the worde of the Prophet ſhal come to paſſe, then ſhal the Prophet be knowen that the Lord hathe truely ſent him.
10.Then Hananiáh the Prophet toke the yoke from the Prophet Ieremiahs necke, and brake it.
12.Then the worde of the Lord came vnto Ieremiáh the Prophet, (after that Hananiáh the Prophet had broken the yoke from the necke of the Prophet Ieremiáh) ſaying,
13.Go, & tel Hananiáh, ſaying, Thus ſaith the Lord, Thou haſt broken the yokes of wood: but thou ſhalt make for them yokes of yron.
15.The ſaid the Prophet Ieremiáh vnto the Prophet Hananiáh, Heare now Hananiáh, the Lord hathe not ſent thee, but thou makeſt this people to truſt in a lye.
16.Therefore thus ſaith the Lord, Beholde, I wil caſt thee from of the earth: this yere thou ſhalt dye, becauſe thou haſt ſpoken rebelliouſly againſt the Lord.
