He prophecieth that Zedekiáh ſhalbe taken, and the citie burned.
1.THe worde which came vnto Ieremiah from the Lord, when King Zedekiáh ſent vnto him Paſhúr, the ſonne of Malchiáh, & Zephaniáh, the ſonne of Maaſeiah the Prieſt, ſaying,
3.Then ſaid Ieremiáh, Thus ſhal you ſay to Zedekiáh,
5.And I my ſelf wil fight againſt you with an outſtretched hand, and with a mightie arme, euen in angre and in wrath, and in great indignacion.
6.And I wil ſmite the inhabitants of this citie, bothe man, and beaſt: thei ſhal dye of a great peſtilence.
7.And after this, ſaith the Lord, I wil deliuer Zedekiáh the King of Iudáh, and his ſeruants, and the people, and ſuche as are left in this citie, from the peſtilence, from the ſworde and from the famine into the hand of Nebuchad-nezzár King of Babél, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of thoſe that ſeke their liues, and he ſhal ſmite them with the edge of the ſworde: he ſhal not ſpare them, nether haue pitie nor compaſsion.
10.For I haue ſet my face againſt this citie, for euil and not for good, ſaith the Lord: it ſhal be giuen into the hand of the King of Babél, and he ſhal burne it with fyre.
11.¶ And ſay vnto the houſe of the King of Iudáh, Heare ye the worde of ye Lord.
13.Beholde, I come againſt thee, ô inhabi tant of the valley, & rocke of the plaine, ſaith the Lord, which ſay, Who ſhal come downe againſt vs? or who ſhal enter into our habitacions?
