He prophecieth the deſtruction of Ieruſalém for the contempt and deſpiſing of the worde of God.
1.THus ſaid the Lord, Go, and bye an earthen bottel of a potter, and take of the ancients of the people, and of the ancients of the Prieſts,
2.And go forthe vnto ye valleĩ of Ben-hin nóm, which is by the entrie of the Eaſt gate: & thou ſhalt preache there the wordes, that I ſhal tel thee,
4.Becauſe they haue forſaken me, and prophaned this place, and haue burnt incenſe in it vnto other gods, whome nether they, nor their fathers haue knowen, nor the Kings of Iudáh (they haue filled this place alſo with the blood of innocents,
7.And I wil bring the counſel of Iudáh & Ieruſalém to noght in this place, and I wil cauſe thē to fall by the ſworde before their enemies, & by the hand of them that ſeke their liues: & their carkeiſes wil I giue to be meat for the foules of ye heauen, and to the beaſtes of the field.
10.Then ſhalt thou breake the bottle in the ſight of the men that go with thee,
12.Thus wil I do vnto this place, ſaith the Lord, and to the inhabitants thereof, and I wil make this citie like Tópheth.
14.Then came Ieremiáh from Tópheth, where the Lord had ſent him to prophecie, and he ſtode in the court of the Lords houſe, and ſaid to all the people,
15.Thus ſaith the Lord of hoſtes, the God of Iſraél, Beholde, I wil bring vpon this citie, and vpon all her townes, all the plagues yt I haue pronounced againſt it, becauſe they haue hardened their neckes, and wolde not heare my wordes.
