1.THen God a ſpake all theſe wordes, ſaying,
2.* I am the Lord thy God, which haue broght thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the houſe of " bondage.
3.Thou ſhalt haue none other gods b before me.
4.* Thou ſhalt make thee no graué image, nether anie ſimilitude of things that are in heauen aboue, nether that are in the earth beneth, nor that are in the waters vnder the earth.
5.Thou ſhalt not c bowe downe to them, nether ſerue them: for I am the Lord thy God, a d ielouſe God, viſiting the iniquitie of the fathers vpon the children, vpon the third generacion and vpon the fourth of them that hate me:
6.And ſhewing mercie vnto e thouſandes to them that loue me and kepe my commandements.
7.* Thou ſhalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in f vaine: for the Lord wil not holde him giltles that taketh his Name in vaine.
8.Remembre the Sabbath daie, g to kepe it holy.
9.* Six daies ſhalt thou labour, and do all thy worke,
10.But the ſeuenth daie is the Sabbath of ÿ Lord thy God: in it thou ſhalt not do anie worke, thou, nor thy ſone, nor thy daughter, thy man ſeruant, nor thy maid, nor thy beaſt, nor thy ſtranger that is within thy " gates.
11.* For in ſix daies the Lord made the heauen and the earth, the ſea, and all that in them is, & reſted the ſeuenth daie: therefore the Lord bleſſed the Sabbath daie, and hallowed it.
12.* Honour thy h father and thy mother, that thy daies maie be prolonged vpon ÿ land, ŵ the Lord thy God giueth thee.
13.* Thou ſhalt not i kil.
14.Thou ſhalt not k commit adulterie.
15.Thou ſhalt not l ſteale.
16.Thou ſhalt not beare falſe m witnes againſt thy neighbour.
17.* Thou ſhalt not n couet thy neighbours houſe, nether ſhalt thou couet thy neighbours wife, nor his man ſeruant, nor his maid, nor his oxe, nor his aſſe, nether any thing that is thy neighbours.
18.¶ And all the people ſawe the thunders, and the " lightnings, and the found of the trumpet, and the mountaine ſmoking: and when the people ſawe it, they fled, and ſtode afarre off,
19.And ſaid vnto Moſes, * Talke thou with vs, and we wil heare: but let not God tal-ke with vs, left we dye.
20.Then Moſes ſaid vnto the people, Fea-re not: for God is come to o proue you, and that his feare may be before you, that ye ſinne not.
21.So the people ſtode a far of, but Moſes drewe nere vnto the darcknes where God was.
22.¶ And the Lord ſaid vnto Moſes, Thus thou ſhalt ſay vnto the children of Iſra-él, Ye haue ſene that I haue talked with you from heauen.
23.Ye ſhal not make therefore with me gods of ſiluer, nor gods of golde: you ſhal ma-ke you none.
24.* An altar of earth yͧ ſhalt make vnto me, & thereon ſhalt offre thy burnt offrings, & thy * peace offrings, thy ſhepe, & thine oxen: in all places, where I ſhal put the re-membrance of my Name, I wil come vn-to thee, and bleſſe thee.
25.* But if thou wilt make me an altar of ſtone, thou ſhalt not buylde it of hewen ſtones: for if thou lift vp thy tole vpon them, thou haſt polluted * them.
26.Nether ſhalt thou go vp by ſteppes vn-to mine altar, that thy p filthines be not diſcouered thereon.
