Exodus 12

2 The Lord inſtituteth the Paſſeouer. 26 The fathers muſt teache their children the myſterie thereof 29 The firſt borne are ſlaine 31 The Iſraelites are driuen out of the land. 35 The Egyptians reſpoiled 37 The nombre that departeth out of Egypt. 40 How long thei were in Egypt
1.THen the Lord ſpake to Moſés and to Aarón in the land of Egypt, ſaying,
2.This a moneth ſhal be vnto you the be-ginning of moneths: it ſhalbe to you the firſt b moneth of the yere.
3.Speake ye vnto all the Congregacion of Iſraél, ſaying, In the tenth of this moneth let euerie man take vnto him a lambe ac-cording to the houſe of the c fathers, a lã-be for an houſe.
4.If the houſholde be to litle for the lam-be, he ſhal take his neighbour, which is next vnto his houſe, according to the nõbre of the perſones: euerie one of you, according to his d eating ſhal make your cõpt for the lambe.
5.Your lambe ſhalbe without blemiſh, a male of a yere olde: ye ſhal take it of the lambes, or of the kiddes.
6.And ye ſhal kepe it vntil the fourtenth day of this moneth: then e all the multi-tude of the Congregacion of Iſraél ſhal kil it " at euen.
7.After thei ſhal take of the blood & ſtrike it on the two poſtes, and on the vpper doore poſt of the houſes where thei ſhal eat it.
8.And thei ſhal eat the fleſh y ſame night, roſte with fyre, & vnleauened bread with ſower herbes thei ſhal eat it.
9.Eat not thereof rawe, boiled nor ſodde in water, but roſte with fyre, both his f head, his fete, and his purtenance.
10.And ye ſhal reſerue nothing of it vnto the morning: but that, which remaineth of it vnto the morowe, ſhal ye burne with fyre.
11.¶ And thus ſhal ye eat it, Your loynes girded, your ſhoes on your fete, & your ſtaues in your hands, and ye ſhal eat it in haſte: for it is the Lords Paſſeouer. g
12.For I wil paſſe through the land of E-gypt the ſame night, and wil ſmite all the firſt borne in the land of Egypt, bothe mã and beaſt, and I wil execute iudgement vpõ all the " gods of Egypt. I am the Lord.
13.And the blood ſhalbe a token for you vpon the houſes where ye are: ſo when I ſe the blood, I wil paſſe ouer you, and the plague ſhal not be vpon you to deſtructi-on, when I ſmite the land of Egypt.
14.And this day ſhalbe vnto you a h remẽ-brance: and ye ſhal kepe it an holy feaſt vnto the Lord, throughout your genera-cions: ye ſhal kepe it holy by an ordinan-ce i for euer.
15.Seuẽ daies ſhal ye eat vnleauened bread, & in any caſe ye ſhal put away leauen the firſt day out of your houſes: for whoſoe-uer eateth leauened bread from the firſt day vntil the ſeuenth day, that perſone ſhal be cut of from Iſraél.
16.And in the firſt day ſhalbe an holy " aſſem-blie: alſo in the ſeuenth day ſhal be an ho-ly aſſemblie vnto you: no worke ſhalbe done in them, ſaue about that which eue-rie man muſt eat: that onely may ye do.
17.Ye ſhal kepe alſo the feaſt of vnleauened bread: for that ſame day I wil bring your armies out of the land of Egypt: there-fore ye ſhal obſerue this day, throughout your poſteritie, by an ordinance for euer.
18.¶ In the firſt moneth and the fourtenth day of the moneth at k euen, ye ſhal eat vnleauened bread vnto the one and twen-tieth day of the moneth at euen.
19.Seuen dayes ſhal no leauen be founde in your houſes: for whoſoeuer eateth leaue-ned bread, that perſone ſhalbe cut of frõ the Congregacion of Iſraél: whether he be a ſtranger, or borne in the land.
20.Ye ſhal eat no leauened bread: but in all your habitacions ſhal ye eat vnleauened bread.
21.¶ Thé Moſés called all the Elders of Iſ-raél, and ſaid vnto them, Choſe out and take you for euerie of your houſholdes a lambe, and kil the Paſſeouer.
22.And take a * bunche of hyſſope, and dip it in the blood that is in the baſſen, & ſtrike the " lintel, and the " doore chekes with the blood that is in the baſſen, & let none of you go out at the doore of his houſe, vn-
23.For the Lord wil paſſe by to ſmite the Egyptians: and when he ſeeth the blood vpon the lintel & on the two dore chekes, the Lord wil paſſe ouer the dore, & wil not ſuffre the l deſtroyer to come into your houſes to plague you.
24.Therefore ſhal ye obſerue this thing as an ordinance bothe for thee and thy ſonnes for euer.
25.And when ye ſhal come into the m land, which the Lord wil giue you, as he hathe promiſed, then ye ſhal kepe this * ſeruice.
26.* And whẽ your children aſke you, What ſeruice is this ye kepe ?
27.Then ye ſhal ſay, It is the ſacrifice of the Lords Paſſeouer, which paſſed ouer the houſes of the children of Iſraél in Egypt, when he ſmote the Egyptians, and preſerued our houſes. Then the people n bowed them ſelues, and worſhipped.
28.So the children of Iſraél went, and did as the Lord had commanded Moſés and Aarón : ſo did thei.
29.¶Now at * midnight, the Lord || ſmote all the firſtborne in the lãd of Egypt, frõ the firſtborne of Pharaóh that ſate on his throne, vnto the * firſtborne of the captiue that was in priſon, and all the firſtborne of beaſtes.
30.And Pharaóh roſe vp in the night, he, and all his ſeruants & all the Egyptians: and there was a great crye in Egypt: for there was o no houſe where there was not one dead.
31.And he called to Moſés and to Aarón by night, & ſaid, Riſe vp, get you out frõ among my people, bothe ye, and the children of Iſraél, and go ſerue the Lord as ye haue ſaid.
32.Take alſo your ſhepe and your cattel as ye haue ſaid, and departe, and p bleſſe me alſo.
33.And the Egyptiãs did force the people, becauſe thei wolde ſend them out of the land in haſte: for thei ſaid, We dye all.
34.Therefore the people toke their dowe before it was leauened, euen their dowe bounde in clothes vpon their ſhulders.
35.And the children of Iſraél did according to the ſaying of Moſés, and thei aſked of the Egyptians * iewels of ſiluer & iewels of golde, and raiment.
36.And the Lord gaue the people fauour in the ſight of the Egyptians: and thei * grãted their requeſt : ſo thei ſpoiled the Egyptians.
37.Then the * children of Iſraél toke their iourney from q Rameſés to Succóth about ſix hundreth thouſand men of fote, beſide children.
38.And r a great multitude of ſundry ſortes of people went out with them, and ſhepe, and beues, & cattel in great abundance.
39.And thei baked the dowe which thei broght out of Egypt, & made vnleauened cakes: for it was not leauened, becauſe thei were thruſt out of Egypt, nether colde they tary, nor yet prepare them ſelues vitailes.
40.¶So the dwelling of the childrẽ of Iſraél, while thei dwelled in Egypt, was * foure hundreth and thirty yeres.
41.And when the [ſ] foure hundreth & thirty yeres were expired, euen the ſelfe ſame day departed all the hoſtes of the Lord out of the land of Egypt.
42.It is a night to be kept holy to the Lord, becauſe he broght them out of the land of Egypt : this is that night of the Lord, which all the childrẽ of Iſraél muſt kepe throughout their generacions.
43.Alſo the Lord ſaid vnto Moſés and Aarón, This is the lawe of the Paſſeouer: t no ſtranger ſhal eat thereof.
44.But euerie ſeruat that is boght for money, when thou haſt circũciſed him, then ſhal he eat thereof.
45.A ſtranger or an hyred ſeruant ſhal not eat thereof.
46.* In one houſe ſhal it be eatẽ: thou ſhalt cary none of the fleſh out of the houſe, * nether ſhal ye breake a bone thereof.
47.All the Cõgregacion of Iſraél ſhal obſerue it.
48.But if a ſtranger dwel with thee, & wil obſerue the Paſſeouer of yͤ Lord, let him circumciſe all the males, that belong vnto him, and then let him come and obſerue it, and he ſhalbe as one that is borne in the land : for none vncircumciſed perſone ſhal eat thereof.
49.One u law ſhalbe to him that is borne in the land, & to the ſtranger that dwelleth among you.
50.Then all the children of Iſraél did as the Lord commanded Moſés and Aarón: ſo did thei.
51.And the ſelfe ſame day did the Lord bring the children of Iſraél out of the land of Egypt by their armies.
