Psalm 91

1 Here is deſcribed in what aſſurance he liueth that putteth his whole truſt in God, & committeth him ſelf wholly to his protection in all tentations 14 A promes of God to thoſe that loue him, know him and truſt in him, to deliuer them, & giue them immortal glorie.
1.WHoſo dwelleth in the ſecret of the moſte High, ſhal abide in the ſhadowe of the Almightie.
2.I wil ſay vnto the Lord, O mine hope, and my fortres: he is my God, in him wil I truſt.
3.Surely he wil deliuer thee frõ the ſnare of the hunter, and from the noiſome peſtilence.
4.He wil couer thee vnder his wings, and thou ſhalt be ſure vnder his feathers: his trueth ſhalbe thy ſhield and buckler.
5.Thou ſhalt not be afraid of the feare of the night, nor of the arrowe that flieth by daye:
6.Nor of the peſtilence that walketh in the darknes: nor of the plague that deſtroyeth at noone daye.
7.A thouſand ſhal fall at thy ſide, and ten thouſand at thy right hand, but it ſhal not come nere thee.
8.Douteles with thine eyes ſhalt thou beholde and ſe the rewarde of the wicked.
9.For thou haſt ſaid, The Lord is mine hope: thou haſt ſet the moſte high for thy refuge.
10.There ſhal none euil come vnto thee, nether ſhal anie plague come nere thy tabernacle.
11.For he ſhal giue his Angels charge ouer thee to kepe thee in all thy waies.
12.They ſhal beare thee in their hands, that thou hurt not thy fote againſt a ſtone.
13.Thou ſhalt walke vpon the liõ and aſpe: the yong lion and the dragon ſhalt thou tread vnder fete.
14.Becauſe he hathe loued me, therefore wil I deliuer him: I wil exalt him becauſe he hathe knowen my Name.
15.He ſhal call vpõ me, & I wil heare him: I wil be with him in trouble: I wil deliuer him, and glorifie him.
16.With long life wil I ſatiſſie him, and ſhewe him my ſaluacion.

He yt maketh God his defence & truſt, ſhal perceiue his protection to be a moſte ſure ſafegarde

Beĩg aſſured of this protection he praieth vnto the Lord.

That is, Gods helpe is moſte readie for vs, whether Satã aſſaile vs ſecretly, wc he calleth a ſnare: or openly, which is here ment by the peſtilence

That is, his faithful kepĩg of promes to helpe thee in thy neceſſitie

The care yt God hathe ouer his, is moſte ſufficiẽt to defende them from all dangers
8:f.
The godlie ſhal haue ſome experience of Gods iudgements againſt ye wicked euen in this life, but fully they ſhal ſe it at ye day, whẽ all things ſhalbe reueiled
11:g.
God hathe not appointed euerie mã one Angel, but manie to be miniſters of his pouidẽce to kepe his & defend them in their vocation. wc is the waye to walke in with out tempting God.
13:h.
Thou ſhalt not onely be preſerued frõ all euil, but ouercome it whether it be ſecret or open
14:i.
To aſſure the faithful of Gods protection, he bringeth in God to confirme the ſame.
16:k.
For he is contẽted with that life, that God giueth: for by death ye ſhortnes of this life is recompenſed wt immortalitie.
