Psalm 135

1 He exhorteth all the faithful, of what eſtate ſo euer thei be, to praiſe God for his maruelous workes, 12 And ſpecially for his graces toward his people, wherein he hathe declared his maieſtie. 15 To the confuſion of all idolaters and their idoles.
¶ Praiſe ye the Lord.
1.PRaiſe the Name of the Lord: ye ſeruants of the Lord, praiſe him.
2.Ye yͤ ſtand in the Houſe of the Lord, & in the courtes of the Houſe of our God,
3.Praiſe ye yͤ Lord: for the Lord is good: ſing praiſes vnto his Name: for it is a comelie thing.
4.For the Lord hathe choſen Iaakób to him ſelfe, and Iſraél for his chief treaſure.
5.For I knowe that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is aboue all gods.
6.Whatſoeuer pleaſed the Lord, that did he in heauen and in earth, in the ſea, & in all the depths.
7.He bringeth vp the cloudes from the ends of the earth, and maketh the lightnings with the raine: he draweth forthe the winde out of his treaſures.
8.He ſmote the firſt borne of Egypt bothe of man and beaſt.
9.He hathe ſent tokens and wonders into the middes of thee, ô Egypt, vpon Pharaóh, and vpon all his ſeruants.
10.He ſmote manie nacions, & ſlewe mightie Kings:
11.As Sihón King of the Amorites, and Og King of Baſhán, and all the kingdomes of Canáan:
12.And gaue their land for an inheritance, euen an inheritance vnto Iſraél his people.
13.Thy Name, ô Lord, endureth for euer: ô Lord, thy remembrance is from generation to generation.
14.For the Lord wil iudge his people, and be pacified towards his ſeruants.
15.The idoles of the heathen are ſiluer & golde, euen the worke of mens hands.
16.Thei haue a mouth, & ſpeake not: thei haue eyes and ſe not.
17.Thei haue eares and heare not, nether is there anie breath in their mouth.
18.Thei that make them, are like vnto them: ſo are all that truſt in them.
19.Praiſe the Lord, ye houſe of Iſraél: praiſe the Lord, ye houſe of Aarón.
20.Praiſe the Lord, ye houſe of Leuí: ye that feare the Lord, praiſe the Lord.
21.Praiſed be the Lord out of Zión, which dwelleth in Ieruſalém. Praiſe ye the Lord.

Ye yͤ are Leuites yͤ are in his Sanctuarie

Meaning the people: for the people and Leuites had their courtes, which were places of the Temple ſeparate.

That is, hath frely loued the poſteritie of Abrahám.

He ioyneth Gods power w̃ his wil, to the intent that we ſhulde not ſeparat them: & hereby he willeth Gods people to depend on his power, w̃ he cõfirmeth by examples.
