Psalms 130

1 The people of God from their bottomless miseries do crye unto God, and are heard. 3 They confess their sins and flee unto God’s mercie.
¶ A song of degrees.
1.Out of the adeep places have I called unto thee, ô Lord.
2.Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears attend to the voice of my praiers.
3.If thou, ô Lord, straitly markest iniquities, ô Lord, bwho shal stand?
4.But mercie is with thee, that thou cmaiest be feared.
5.I have waited on the Lord: my soul hathe waited, and I have trusted in his word.
6.My soul waiteth on the Lord more then the morning watch watcheth for the morning.
7.Let Israél wait on the Lord: for with the Lord is dmercie, and with him is great redemption.
8.And he shal redeem Israél from all his iniquities.

He declares that we cannot be just before God, but by forgiveness of sins.

Because of nature you are merciful: therefore the faithful reverence you.

He shows to whom the mercy of God does appertain: to Israel, that is to the Church, and not to the reprobate.
