3 Iehoſhaphat and the people pray vnto the Lord. 22 The maruelous victorie that the Lord gaue him againſt his enemies. 30 His reigne and actes.
4.And Iudáh gathered thēſelues together to aſke counſel of the Lord: they came euē out of all the cities of Iudáh to inquire of the Lord.
5.And Iehoſhaphát ſtode in the Congregacion of Iudáh and Ieruſalém in the houſe of the Lord before the new court,
6.And ſaid, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heauen? and reigneſt not thou on all the kingdomes of the heathē? and in thine hand is power and might, & none is able to withſtand thee.
8.And they dwelt therein, and haue buylt thee a Sanctuarie therein for thy Name, ſaying,
11.Beholde, I ſay, thei rewarde vs, in cóming to caſt vs out of thine inheritance, which thou haſt cauſed vs to inherit.
16.To morowe go ye downe againſt them: beholde, they come vp by the cleft of Ziz, and ye ſhal finde them at the end of the broke before the wildernes of Ieruél.
19.And the Leuites of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Corhites ſtode vp to praiſe the Lord God of Iſraél with a loude voice on hie.
24.And when Iudáh came toward Mizpáh in the wildernes, they loked vnto the multitude: and beholde, the carkeiſes were fallen to the earth, and none eſcaped.
25.And when Iehoſhaphat and his people came to take away the ſpoyle of them, thei found amõg them in abundance bothe of ſubſtance & alſo of bodies ladẽ with precious iewels, which thei toke for thẽ ſelues, til they colde cary nomore: they were thre dayes in gathering of the ſpoile: for it was muche.
27.Thẽ euerie man of Iudáh & Ieruſalém returned with Iehoſhaphat their head, to go againe to Ieruſalém with ioye: for the Lord had made thẽ to reioyce ouer their enemies.
28.And they came to Ieruſalém with violes, and with harpes, and with trumpets, euen vnto the houſe of the Lord.
30.So ye kingdome of Iehoſhaphat was quiet, & his God gaue him reſt on euery ſide.
35.¶ Yet after this did Iehoſhaphat King of Iudáh ioyne him ſelfe with Ahaziáh King of Iſraél, who was giuen to do euil.
