2 Kings 25

1 Ieruſalém is beſieged of Nebuchad-nezzár. & ta- 7 The ſonnes of Zedekiáh are ſlayne befor
1.ANd * in the a ninthe yere of his reigne, the b tenth moneth & tenth day of the moneth Nebuchad-nezzár King of Babél came, he, & all his hoſte againſt Ieruſalém, and pitched againſt it, and they buylt " fortes againſt it rounde about it.
2.So the citie was beſieged vnto the eleuẽth yere of King Zedekiáh.
3.And the ninthe day of the moneth the famine was c ſore in the citie, ſo that there was no bread for the people of the land.
4.Then the citie was broken vp, and all the men of warre fled by night, by the waye of the d gate, which is betwene two walles that was by the Kings garden: now the Caldees were by the citie rounde about: and the King went by the way of the wildernes.
5.But the armie of the Caldees purſued after the King, and toke him in the deſerts of Ierichó, and all his hoſte was ſcatred from him.
6.Then they toke the King, and caryed him vp to the King of Babél to Ribláh, where they e gaue iudgement vpon him.
7.And they ſlewe the ſonnes of Zedekiáh before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiáh, and bounde him in chaines, & caryed him to Babél.
8.¶ And in the fift moneth, & f ſeuenth day of the moneth, which was the nintenth yere of King Nebuchad-nezzár King of Babél, came Nebuzar-adán chief ſteward and " ſeruant of the King of Babél, to Ieruſalém,
9.And burnt the houſe of the Lord, and the Kings houſe, and all the houſes of Ieruſalém, & all the great houſes burnt he with fyre.
10.And all the armie of the Caldees that were with the chief ſtewarde, brake downe the walles of Ieruſalém rounde about.
11.And the reſt of the people that were left in the citie, and thoſe that were fled and g fallen to the King of Babél, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzar-adán chief ſtewarde carye away captiue.
12.But the chief ſtewarde left of the poore of the land to dreſſe the vines, and to til the land.
13.* Alſo the pillers of braſſe that were in the houſe of the Lord, and the baſes, and the braſen Sea that was in the houſe of the Lord, did the Caldees breake, and caryed the braſſe of them to Babél.
14.The pottes h alſo and the beſomes, and the inſtruments of muſike, and the incenſe aſſhes, & all the veſſels of braſſe that they miniſtred in, toke they away.
15.And the aſſhe pannes, and the baſens, and all that was of golde, & that was of ſiluer, toke the chief ſtewarde away,
16.With the two pillers, one Sea & the baſes, which Salomón had made for the houſe of the Lord: the braſſe of all theſe veſſels was without weight.
17.* The height of the one piller was eightene cubites, and the chapiter thereon was braſſe, and the height of the chapiter was thre cubites, and pomegranates vpon the chapiter rounde about, all of braſſe: and likewiſe was the ſeconde piller with the networke.
18.And the chief ſtewarde toke Seraiáh the chief Prieſt, and Zephaniáh the i ſeconde Prieſt, and the thre kepers of the dore.
19.And out of the citie he toke an eunuche that had the ouerſight of the mẽ of warre, and k fiue men of them that were in the Kings preſence, which were founde in the citie, and Sophér captaine of the hoſte, who muſtred the people of the land, and threſcore men of the people of the land, that were founde in the citie.
20.And Nebuzar-adán the chief ſtewarde toke them, and broght them to the King of Babél to Ribláh.
21.And the King of Babél ſmote them, and ſlewe them at Ribláh in the land of Hamáth. So Iudáh was caryed away captiue out of his owne land.
22.* Howbeit there remained people in the land of Iudáh, whome Nebuchad-nezzár King of Babél left, & made Gedaliáh the ſonne of Ahikám the ſonne of Shaphán ruler ouer them.
23.Thẽ when all the captaines of the hoſte & their men heard, that the King of Babél had made Gedaliáh gouernour, they came to Gedaliáh to Mizpáh, to wit, Iſhmaél the ſonne of Nethaniáh, and Iohanán the ſonne of Káreah, and Seraiáh the ſonne of Tanhúmeth ye Netophathite, & Iaazaniáh ye ſonne of Maachathí, they & their mẽ.
24.And Gedaliáh l ſware to thẽ, & to their men, and ſaid vnto them, Feare not to be the ſeruants of the Caldees: dwel in the land, and ſerue the King of Babél, and ye ſhal be wel.
25.* But in the ſeuenth moneth Iſhmaél the ſonne of Nethaniáh the ſonne of Eliſhamá of the Kings ſede, came, and ten men with him, & ſmote Gedaliáh, & he dyed, and ſo did he the Iewes, and the Caldees that were with him at Mizpáh.
26.Then all the people bothe ſmall & great and the captaines of the armie aroſe, and came to m Egypt: for they were afrayed of the Caldees.
27.Notwithſtanding in the ſeuen and thirtieth yere after, n Iehoiachín King of Iudáh was caryed away in the twelft moneth & the ſeuen and twentith day of the moneth, Euil-merodách King of Babél in the yere
