2 Kings 21

3 King Manaſſéh reſtoreth idolatrie. 16 And vſeth great crueltie. 18 He dyeth, and Amón his ſonne ſuccedeth, 23 Who is killed of his owne ſeruants. 26 After him reigneth Ioſiáh.
1.MAnaſſéh * was twelue yere olde whẽ he began to reigne, and reigned fiftie and fiue yere in Ieruſalém: his mothers name alſo was Hephzi-báh.
2.And he did euil in the ſight of the Lord after the abominacion of the heathen, whome the * Lord had caſt out before the children of Iſraél.
3.For he went backe and buylt the hie places, * which Hezekiáh his father had deſtroied: and he erected vp altars for Báal, and made a groue, as did Aháb King of Iſraél, and worſhiped all the hoſte of heauen and ſerued them.
4.4 Alſo he * buylt altars in the houſe of the Lord, of the which the Lord ſaid, * In Ieruſalém wil I put my Name.
5.5 And he buylt altars for all the hoſte of the heauen in the two courtes of the houſe of the Lord.
6.6 And he cauſed his ſonnes a to paſſe through the fyre, and gaue him ſelfe to witchcraft and ſorcerie, and he vſed them that had familiar ſpirits and were ſotheſayers, and did muche euil in the ſight of the Lord to angre him.
7.7 And he ſet the image of the groue, that he had made, in the houſe, whereof ye Lord had ſaid to Dauid and to Salomón his ſonne, * In this houſe, and in Ieruſalém, which I haue choſen out of all the tribes of Iſraél, wil I put my Name for euer.
8.8 Nether wil I make ye fete of Iſraél moue anie more out of the land, which I gaue their fathers: ſo that they wil b obſerue and do all that I haue commanded them, & according to all the Lawe that my ſeruant Moſés commanded them.
9.9 Yet they obeyed not, but Manaſſéh led them out of the way, to do more wickedly then did the heathen people, whome the Lord deſtroyed before the children of Iſraél.
10.10 Therefore the Lord ſpake by his ſeruãts the Prophetes, ſaying,
11.11 * Becauſe that Manaſſéh King of Iudáh hathe done ſuche abominaciõs, and hathe wroght more wickedly then all that the Amorites (which were before him) did, & hathe made Iudáh ſinne alſo wt his idoles,
12.12 Therefore thus ſaith the Lord God of Iſraél, Beholde, I wil bring an euil vpon Ieruſalém and Iudáh, that whoſo heareth of it, bothe his eares ſhal c tingle.
13.13 And I wil ſtretch ouer Ieruſalém the line d of Samaria, and the plommet of the houſe of Aháb: and I wil wipe Ieruſalém, as a man wipeth a diſſh, which he wipeth, and turneth it vpſide downe.
14.14 And I wil forſake the e remnant of mine inheritance, and deliuer them into the hãd of their enemies, and they ſhalbe robbed & ſpoiled of all their aduerſaries,
15.15 Becauſe they haue done euil in my ſight, and haue prouoked me to angre, ſince the time their fathers came out of Egypt vntil this day.
16.16 Moreouer Manaſſéh ſhed f innocent blood exceding muche, til he repleniſhed Ieruſalém from corner to corner, beſide his ſinne wherewith he made Iudáh to ſinne, and to do euil in the ſight of the Lord.
17.17 Concerning the reſt of the actes of Manaſſéh, and all that he did, and his ſinne yt he ſinned, are they not writen in ye boke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudáh?
18.18 And Manaſſéh ſlept with his fathers, and was buryed in ye gardẽ of his owne houſe, euen in the garden of Vzzá: and Amón his ſonne reigned in his ſteade.
19.19 ¶ * Amón was two and twentie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and he reigned two yere in Ieruſalém: his mothers name alſo was Meſhullémeth the daughter of Harúz of Iotbáh.
20.20 And he did euil in the ſight of the Lord, as his father Manaſſéh did.
21.21 For he walked in all the waie, that his father walked in, and ſerued the idoles that his father ſerued, and worſhiped them.
22.22 And he forſoke the Lord God of his fathers, and walked not in the g way of the Lord.
23.23 And the ſeruants of Amón conſpired againſt him, and ſlewe the King in his owne houſe.
24.24 And the people of the land ſlewe all them that had conſpired againſt King Amón, and the people made Ioſiáh his ſonne King in his ſteade.
25.25 Concerning the reſt of the actes of Amón, which he did, are they not writen in the boke of ye Chronicles of the Kings of Iudáh?
26.26 And " they buryed him in his ſepulchre in the garden of Vzzá: and Ioſiáh his ſonne reigned in his ſteade.
