2 Samuel 9

1 Dauid restoreth all the landes of Saúl to Mephiboshéth the sonne of Ionathán. 10 He appointeth Ziba to sowe the profit of his landes.
1.And Dauid said, Is there yet any man left of the house of Saúl, that I may a shewe him mercy for Ionathans sake? * a Because of mine othe and promes made to Ionathan. 1. Sam. 20, 15.
2.And there was of the householde of Saúl... ... a seruant whose name was Zibá, & when they had called him vnto Dauid, the King said vnto him, Art thou Zibá? And he said, I thy seruant am he.
3.Then the King said, Remaineth there yet none of the house of Saúl, on whome I may shewe the b mercy of God? Zibá then answered the King, Ionathán hathe yet a sonne c lame of his feete.
4.Then the King said vnto him, Where is he? And Zibá said vnto the King, Beholde, he is in the house of Machír the sonne of Ammiél of Lo-debár.
5.¶ Then King Dauid sent, and toke him out of the house of Machír the sonne of c Ammiél of Lo-debár.
6.Now when Mephibófheth the sonne of Ionathán, the sonne of Saúl was come vnto Dauid, he fell on his face, and did reuerence. And Dauid said, Mephibófheth? And he answered, Beholde thy seruant.
7.Then Dauid said vnto him, Feare not: for I wil surely shewe thee kindenes for Ionathán thy fathers sake, and wil restore thee all the * fields of Saúl thy father, and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
8.And he bowed him selfe, and said, What is thy seruant, that thou shuldest loke vpon suche d a dead dog as I am?
9.¶ Then the King called Zibá Sauls seruant, and said vnto him, I haue giuen vnto thy masters * sonne all that perteined to Saúl and to all his house.
10.Thou therefore and e thy sonnes, and thy seruants shal till the land for him, and bring in that thy masters sonne may haue foode to eat. And Mephibófheth thy masters sonne shal eat bread alway at my table (now Zibá had fiftene sonnes, and twentie seruants)
11.Then said Zibá vnto the King, According to all that my lord the King hathe commanded his seruant, so shal thy seruant do, f that Mephibófheth may eat at my table, as one of the Kings sonnes.
12.Mephibófheth also had a yong sonne named Michá, & all that dwelled in the house of Zibá, were seruants vnto Mephibófheth.
13.And Mephibófheth dwelt in Ierusalém: for he did eat continually at the Kings table, and was lame on bothe his feete.
