1 Ioſeph is ſolde to Potiphár. 2 God proſpereth him 7 Potiphars wife tempteth him 13, 20 He is accuſed & caſt in priſon 21 God ſheweth him fauour.
3.And his maſter ſawe that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to proſper in his hand.
8.But he refuſed & ſaid to his maſters wife, Beholde, my maſter knoweth not what he hathe in the houſe with me, but hathe cōmitted all that he hathe to mine hand.
10.And albeit ſhe ſpake to Ioſeph day by day, yet he hearkened not vnto her, to lye with her, or to be in her companie.
11.Then on a certeine day Ioſeph entred in- to the houſe, to do his buſines: & there was no man of the houſholde in the houſe:
12.Therefore ſhe caught him by his gar- ment, ſayīg, Slepe wͤ me: but he left his garment in her hand and fled, & got him out.
13.Now when ſhe ſawe that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled out,
15.And when he heard yͤ I lift vp my voyce and cryed, he left his garment with me, & fled away, and got him out.
16.So ſhe layed vp his garment by her, vntil her lord came home.
18.But aſsōne as I lift vp my voyce and cryed, he left his garmēt wͤ me, & fled out.
19.Then when his maſter heard the wordes of his wife, which ſhe tolde him, ſaying, After this maner did thy ſeruāt to me, his angre was kindled.
23.And the keper of the priſon loked vnto nothing that was vnder his hand, ſeing that the Lord was with him: for whatſoeuer he did, the Lord made it to proſper.
