Iſraél ſinne and are giué into the hands of Iabín. 4 Deborah iudgeth Iſraél and exhorteth Barák to deliuer the people 15 Siſera fleeth, 17 And is killed by Iaél
.ANd the children of Iſraél " began againe to do wickedly in the ſight of the Lord when Ehúd was dead.
.And the Lord ſolde them into the hand of a Iabín King of Canaan, that reigned in Hazór, whoſe chief captaine was called Siſerá, which dwelt in b Haróſheth of the Gentiles.
.Then the children of Iſraél cryed vnto the Lord: (for he had nine hundreth charets of yron, and twentie yeres he had vexed the children of Iſraél very ſore)
.¶ And at that time Deboráh a Propheteſſe the wife of Lapidóth c iudged Iſraél.
.And this Deboráh dwelt vnder a palme tre, betwene Ramáh and Beth-él in moūt Ephráim, & the children of Iſraél came vp to her for iudgement.
.Then ſhe ſent and called Barák the ſonne of Abinóam out of Kédeſh of Naphtali, and ſaid vnto him, Hathe not ye Lord God of Iſraél d commanded, ſaying, Go, and drawe toward mount Tabór, & take with thee ten thouſand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
.And I wil drawe vnto thee to the * " riuer Kiſhón Siſerá, the captaine of Iabins armie with his charets, and his multitude, & wil deliuer him into thine hand.
.And Barák ſaid vnto her, e If thou wilt go with me, I wil go : but if thou wilt not go with me, I wil not go .
.Then ſhe anſwered, I wil ſurely go with thee, but this iourney that thou takeſt, ſhal not be for thine honour : for ye Lord ſhal ſel Siſera into ye hād of a womā. And Deboráh aroſe and went wt Barák to Kédeſh.
.¶ And Barák called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kédeſh, & " he went vp on his fete with ten thouſand men, and Deboráh wēt vp with him.
.(Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the " children of * Hobáb the father in law of Moſes, was departed from the " Kenites, and pitched his tent vntil the plaine of Zaanaim, which is by Kédeſh)
.Thé they ſhewed Siſerá, yt Barák ye ſonne of Abinóá was gone vp to moūt Tabór.
.And Siſerá called for all is charets, even nine hundreth charets of yron, & all the people that were with him fró f Haroſheth of the Gentiles, vnto the riuer Kiſhón.
.Then Deboráh ſaid vnto Barák, g Vp: for this is ye day that the Lord hathe deliuered Siſera into thine hand. Is not the Lord gone out before thee? ſo Barák went downe from mount Tabór, and ten thouſand men after him.
.And the Lord deſtroyed Siſerá and all his charets, & all his hoſte with the edge of the ſworde, before Barák, ſo that Siſerá lighted downe of his charet, and fled away on his fete.
.But * Barák purſued after the charets, & after the hoſte vnto Haroſheth of the Gétiles: & all ye hoſt of Siſera fel vpon ye edge of ye ſworde: there was not a mā left.
.Howbeit, Siſerá fled away on his fete to the tent of Iaél the wife of h Hebér the Kenite: (for peace was betwene Iabín the King of Hazór, and betwene the houſe of Hebér the Kenite)
.And Iaél wét out to mete Siſerá, & ſaid vnto him, Turne in, my Lord, turne into me: feare not. And when he had turned in vnto her into her tent, ſhe couered him with a " mantel.
.And he ſaid vnto her, Giue me, I pray thee, a litle water to drike: for I am thirſty. And ſhe opened * a bottle of milke & gaue him drinke, and couered him.
.Againe he ſaid vnto her, Stande in the dore of the tent, and when anie man doeth come and enquire of thee, ſaying, Is anie man here? thou ſhalt ſay, i Nay.
.Then Iaél Hebers wife toke a k nayle of the tent, and toke an hammer in her hand, and went ſoftly vnto him, and ſmote the naile into his temples, and faſtened it into the grounde, (for he was faſt a ſlepe, and wearie) and ſo he dyed.
.And beholde, as Barák purſued after Siſerá, Iaél came out to mete him, and ſaid vnto him, Come, and I wil ſhewe thee the mā, whome thou ſekeſt: and whē he came into her tent, beholde, Siſerá lay l dead, and the naile in his temples.
.So God broght downe Iabín the King of Canáan that day before the children of Iſraél.
.And the hand of the children of Iſraél " proſpered, and preuailed againſt Iabín the King of Canáan, vntil they had deſtroyed Iabín King of Canáan.
