Judges 12

6 Jphtáh killeth two & fortie thousand Ephraimites. 8 After Jphtáh succedeth Ibzán, 11 Elón, 13 And Abdón.
1.And the men of Ephráim gathered themselves together, and went aNorthward and said unto Jphtáh, Wherefore wentest thou to fight against the children of Ammón, and didest not call bus to go with thee? we wil therefore burne thine house upon thee with fire.
2.And Jphtáh said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammón, and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands.
3.So when I sawe that ye delivered me not, cI put my life in mine hands, and went upon the children of Ammón: so the Lord delivered them into mine hands. Wherefore then are ye come upon me now to fight against me?
4.Then Jphtáh gathered all the men of Gileád, and fought with Ephráim: and the men of Gileád smote Ephráim, because they said, Ye Giliadites are runagates of Ephráim damong the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites,
5.Also the Giliadites toke the passages of Jordén before the Ephraimites, and when the Ephraimites that were escaped, said, Let me passe, then the men of Gileád said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay,
6.Then said they unto him, Say now eShibbóleth: and he said, Sibbóleth: for he colde not so pronounce: then they toke him, and slewe him at the passages of Jordén: and there fel at that time of the Ephraimites two and forty thousand.
7.And Jphtáh judged Israél six yere: then dyed Jphtáh the Giliadite, and was buryed in one of the cities of Gileád.
8.¶ After him fIbzán of Beth-léhem judged Israél.
9.Who had thirtie sonnes and thirtie daughters, which he sent out, and toke in thirtie daughters from abroad for his sonnes, and he judged Israél seven yere.
10.Then Ibzán dyed, and was buryed at Beth-léhem.
11.¶ And after him judged Israél Elón, a Zebulonite, and he judged Israél ten yere.
12.Then Elón the Zebulonite dyed, and was buryed in Aijalón in the countrey of Zebulún.
13.¶ And after him Abdón the sonne of Hillél the Pirathonite judged Israél.
14.And he had fortie sonnes and thirtie ^neuews that rode on seventie ^assecoltes: and he judged Israél eight yeres.
15.Then dyed Abdón the sonne of Hillél the Pirathonite, and was buryed in Pirathón, in the land of Ephráim, in the mount of the Amalekites.
