.And he ^judged Israél thre and twentie yere and dyed, and was buryed in Shamír.
.¶ And after him arose Jaír a Gileadite, and judged Israél two and twentie yere.
.And he had thirtie sonnes that arode on thirty assecoltes, and thei had thirty cities, which are called ^Havoth-Jaír unto this day, and are in the land of Gilead.
.And Jaír dyed, and was buryed in Kamón.
.*And the children of Israél wroght wickednes againe in the sight of the Lord, and served Baalím and *Ashtaróth, and the gods of ^Arám, and the gods of Zidón, and the gods of Moáb, and the gods of the children of Ammón, and the gods of the Philistíms, and forsoke the Lord and served not him.
.Therefore the wrath of the Lord was kindled against Israél, and ^he solde them into the hands of the Philistíms, and into the hands of the children of Ammón:
.Who from that yere vexed and oppressed the children of Israél eightene yeres, beven all the children of Israél that were beyonde Jordén, in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gileád.
.Moreover the children of Ammón went over Jordén to fight against Judáh, and against Benjamín, and against the house of Ephráim: so that Israél was sore tormented.
.Then the children of Israél ccryed unto the Lord, saying, We have sinned against thee, even because we have forsaken our owne God, and have served Baalím.
.And the Lord dsaid unto the children of Israél, did not I deliver you from the Egyptians and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammón and from the Philistíms?
.The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Moabites did oppress you, & ye cryed to me & I saved you out of their hands.
.Yet ye *have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I wil deliver you nomore.
.Go, and crye unto the gods which ye have chosen. let them save you in the time of your tribulacion.
.And the children of Israél said unto the Lord, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever please thee: onely we pray thee to deliver us ethis day.
.Then they put away the strange gods from among them and fserved the Lord. and he soule was grieved for the miserie of Israél.
.Then the children of Ammón gathered them selves together, and pitched in Gileád: and the children of Israél assembled them selves, and pitched in Mizpéh.
.And the people and princes of Gileád said one to an other, Whosoever wil begin the battel against the children of Ammón, the same shal be *head over all the inhabitants of Gileád.
