Revelation 11

1 The temple is measured. 3 Two witnesses raised up by the Lord, are murdered by the beast, 11 But after received to glory. 15 Christ is exalted, 16 And God praised by the 24 elders.
1.Then was given me a reed, like unto a rod, and the Angel stood by, saying, Rise and amete the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
2.But bthe court which is without the temple cast out, and mete it not: for it is given unto the Gentiles, and the holie ccity shall they tread under foot dtwo and forty months.
3.But I will give power unto my etwo witnesses, and they shall prophecy a fthousand, two hundred, and threescore days, clothed in gsackcloth.
4.These are two holive trees, and two candlesticks, standing before the God of the iearth.
5.And if any man will hurt them, fire procedeth out of their mouths, and devoureth their enemies: for if any man would hurt them, kthus must he be killed.
6.These have power to shut lheaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophesying, and have power over waters to turn them into mblood, and to smite the earth with all manner plagues, as often as they will.
7.And when they have finished their testimony, the nbeast that cometh out of the bottomless pit, shall make war against them, and shall oovercome them, and kill them.
8.And their corpses shall lie in the streets of the great pcity, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where our Lord also was crucified.
9.And they of the people and kindreds, and tongues, and Gentiles shall see their corpses three days and an half, and shall not suffer their carcases to be put in graves.
10.And they that dwell upon the earth, shall rejoice over them and be glad, and shall send gifts one to another: for these two Prophets qvexed them that dwelt on the earth.
11.But after three days and an half, the spirit of life coming from God, shall enter into them, and they shall rstand up upon their feet: and great fear shall come upon them which saw them.
12.And they shall hear a great voice from heaven, saying unto them, sCome up hither. And they shall ascend up to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies shall see them.
13.And the same hour shall there be a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city tshall fall, and in the earthquake shalbe slain in number seven thousand: and the remnant shalbe afraid, uand give glory to the God of heaven.
14.The second wo is past, and behold the third wo will come anone.
15.And the seventh Angel blew the trumpet and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The xkingdoms of this world are our Lord’s, and his Christ’s, and he shall reign for evermore.
16.Then the four and twenty Elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped yGod.
17.Saying, zWe give thee thanks, Lord God almighty, Which art, and Which wast, and Which art to come: for thou hast received thy great might, and hast obtained thy kingdom.
18.And the Gentiles were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shuldest give reward unto thy servants the Prophets, and to the Saints, and to them that fear thy Name, to small, and great, and shuldest destroy them, which destroy the earth.
19.Then the Temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his Temple the Arke of his covenant: and there were alightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and earthquake, and much hail.

1-a.
Which declares that Christ Jesus will build his Church and not have it destroyed: for he measures out his spiritual Temple.
2-b.
The Jewish temple was divided into three parts: the body of the temple which is called the court, whereinto every man entered: the holy places where the levites were: and the holiest of all, whereinto the high Priest once a year entered: in respect therefore of these two later, the first is said to be cast out, because as a thing profane it is neglected when the temple is measured, and yet the adversaries of Christ boast that they are in the Temple, and that none are of the Temple, but they.

That is, the Church of God.
2-d.
Meaning, a certain time: for God has limited the times of Antichrist’s tyranny.
3-e.
By two witnesses he means all the preachers that should build up God’s Church, alluding to Zorubbabel and Jehoshua which were chiefly appointed for this thing, and also to this saying, In the mouth of two witnesses stands every word.
3-f.
Signifying a certain time: for when God gives strength to his ministers, their persecutions seem, but as it were for a day or two.
3-g.
In poor and simple apparel.
4-h.
Whereby are signified the excellent graces of them which bear witness to the Gospel.
4-i.
Who hath dominion over the whole earth.
5-k.
By God’s word whereby his ministers discomfit the enemies.
6-l.
They denounce God’s judgement against the wicked, that they can not enter into heaven.
6-m.
Which is to declare and procure God’s vengeance.
7-n.
That is, the Pope which hath his power out of hell and comes thence.
7-o.
He shows how the Pope gains the victory, not by God’s word, but by cruel war.
8-p.
Meaning the whole jurisdiction of the Pope, which is compared to Sodom for their abominable sin, and to Egypt because the true liberty to serve God is taken away from the faithful: and Christ was condemned by Pilate, who represented the Romaine power which should be enemy to the godly.
10-q.
The infidels are tormented by hearing the truth preached.
11-r.
Which shalbe at the last resurrection.
12-s.
For it seemed that Antichrist had chased them out of the earth.
13-t.
Of the power of Antichrist.
13-u.
When they shall understand by God’s word the glory of his, and the punishment of his enemies, they shall fall from the Pope, & glorify God.
15-x.
Albeit Satan by the Pope, Turk and other instruments troubles the world never so much, yet Christ shall reign.
16-y.
Jesus Christ.
17-z.
This declares the office of the godly, which is to give God thanks for the deliverance of his, and to praise his justice for punishing of his enemies.
19-a.
Which signifies the destruction of the enemies.
