After that S. John had sufficiently declared, how that our whole salvation doeth consist only in Christ, lest that any man should thereby take a boldness to sin, he sheweth that no man can believe in Christ, unless he doeth endeavour himself to keep his commandments, which thing being done, he exhorteth them to beware of false prophets, whom he calleth Antichrists, and to try the spirits. Last of all he doeth earnestly exhort them unto brotherly love, and to beware of deceivers.
