John 16

2 He putteth them in remembrance of the cross, and of their own infirmity to come. 7 And therefore doeth comfort them with the promise of the holie Ghost 16 Of the coming again of Christ. 17 Of his ascension. 23 To ask in the Name of Christ Peace in Christ, and in the world affliction.
1.These things have I said unto you, that ye should not be aoffended.
2.They shall ^excommunicate you: yea, the time shall come, that whosoever killeth you, will think that he doeth God service.
3.And these things will they do unto you, because they have not knowen the Father, nor me.
4.But these things have I told you, that when the hour shall come, ye might remember, that I told you them. And these things bsaid I not unto you from the beginning, because I was with you.
5.But now I go my way to him that sent me and none of you asketh me, cWhither goest thou?
6.But because I have said these things unto you, your hearts are full of sorrow.
7.Yet I tell you the truth, It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you: but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8.And when he is come, he will dreprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement.
9.Of esin, because they believe not in me:
10.Of frighteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye shall see me no more:
11.Of gjudgement, because the prince of this world is judged.
12.I have yet hmany things to say unto you, but ye can not bear them now.
13.Howbeit, when he is come which is the Spirit of truth, he will lead you into all truth: for he shall not speak of him self, but whatsoever he shall hear, shall he speak, and he will shewe you the things ito come.
14.He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shewe it unto you.
15.All things that the Father hath, are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shewe it unto you.
16.kA little while, and ye shall not see me: and again a little while, and ye shall see me, for I lgo to my Father.
17.Then said some of his disciples among them selves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, & ye shall not see me, & again, a little while, & ye shall see me, & , For I go to my Father?
18.They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we know not what he saith.
19.Now Jesus knewe that they would ask him, & said unto them, Do ye inquire among your selves, of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: & again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
20.Verily, verily I say unto you, that ye shall weep and lament, and the world shall rejoice: and ye shall sorrow, but your sorrow shalbe turned to joy.
21.A woman when she travaileth, hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but assoon as she is delivered of the child, she remembreth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
22.And ye now therefore are in sorrow: but I will see you magain, and your hearts shall rejoice, and your joy shall nno man take from you.
23.And in that day shall ye ask me onothing. *Verily, verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my Name, he will give it you.
24.Hitherto have ye asked pnothing in my Name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
25.These things have I spoken unto you in parables: but the time will come, when I shall no more speak to you in parables: but I shall shewe you plainly of the Father.
26.At that day shall ye ask in my Name, and I say not unto you, that I qwill pray unto the Father for you.
27.For the Father him self loveth you, because ye have loved me, *and have believed that I came out from God.
28.I am come out from the Father, and came into the world: again I leave the world, and go to the Father.
29.His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and thou speakest no parable.
30.Now know we that thou knowest all things, and nedest not that any man should ask thee. By this we believe, that thou art come out from God.
31.Jesus answered them, Do you believe now?
32.*Behold, the hour cometh, and is already come, that ye shalbe scattered every man into his own, and shall leave me alone: but I am not ralone: for the Father is with me.
33.These things have I spoken unto you, that sin me ye might have peace: in the world ye shall have affliction, but be of good comfort: I have overcome the world.
