Mark 9

2 The transfiguration. 7 Christ is to be heard. 26 The domme spirt is cast out. 29 The force of prayer and fasting. 31 Of the death and resurrection of Christ. 33 The disputation who should be the greatest. 38 Not to hinder the course of the Gospel. 42 Offences are forbidden.
1.And *he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, that there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the akingdom of God come with power.
2.*And six days after Jesus took Peter, and James, and John, and brought them up into an high mountain out of the way alone, and he was transfigured before them.
3.And his raiment did bshine, and was very white, as snow, so white as no fuller can make upon the earth.
4.And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.
5.Then Peter answered, and said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: let us make also three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
6.cYet he knewe not what he said: for they were afraid.
7.And there was a cloud that shadowed them, & a voice came out of the cloud, saying, *This is my beloved Son: dhear him.
8.And suddenly they looked round about, and saw no more any man save Jesus only with them.
9.*And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what they had seen save when the Son of man were risen from the dead again.
10.So they kept that matter to them selves, and demanded one of another, what the rising from the dead again should mean?
11.Also they asked him, saying, Why say the Scribes, that *Elias emust first come?
12.And he answered, and said unto them, Elias verily shall first come and restore all things: and *as it is written of the Son of man, he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.
13.But I say unto you, that fElias is come, (and they have done unto him whatsoever they would) as it is *written of him.
14.*And when he came to his gdisciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the Scribes disputing with them.
15.And straight way all the people, when they beheld him, were amazed, and ran to him, and saluted him.
16.Then he asked the Scribes, What dispute you ^among your selves?
17.And one of the company answered, and said, Master, I have brought my son unto thee, which hath a domme spirit:
18.And wheresoever he taketh him, he hteareth him, and he fometh, and gnassheth his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out, and they could not.
19.Then he answered him, and said, iO faithless generation, how long now shall I be with you! how long now shall I suffer you! Bring him unto me.
20.So they brought him unto him: & assone as the spirit saw him, he tare him, & he fell down on the ground, wallowing & foaming.
21.Then he asked his father, How long time is it since he hath been thus? And he said, Of a child.
22.And oft times he casteth him into the fyre, and into the water to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, help us, and have compassion upon us.
23.And Jesus said unto him, If kthou canst believe it, all things are lpossible to him that believeth.
24.And straight way the father of the child crying with tears, said, Lord, I believe: help my munbelief.
25.When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying unto him, Thou domme and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26.Then the spirit cryed, and rent him sore, and came out, and nhe was as one dead, in so much that many said, He is dead.
27.But Jesus took his hand and lift him up and he rose.
28.And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him secretly, Why could not we cast him out?
29.And he said unto them, This kind can by no other means come forth, but by oprayer, and fasting.
30.¶ And they departed thence, and went through Galile, and he would not that any should have knowen it.
31.*For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man shalbe delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him, but after that he is killed, he shall rise again the third day.
32.But pthey understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.
33.*After he came to Capernaum: and when he was in the house, he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among you by the way?
34.And they held their peace: for by the way they reasoned among them selves, who should be the chiefest.
35.And he sat down, and called the twelve, and said to them, If any man desire to be first, the same shalbe last of all, and servant unto all.
36.And he took a little child and set him in the middes of them, and took him in his arms, and said unto them,
37.Whosoever shall receive one of such little children in my Name, receiveth me: and whosoever receiveth me, receiveth not qme, but him that sent me.
38.*Then John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils by thy Name, which followeth not us, and we forbade him, because he followeth us not.
39.*But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man that can do a ^miracle by my Name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
40.For whosoever is not ragainst us, is on our part.
41.*And whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink for my Name’s sake, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not loose his reward.
42.*And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones, that believe in me, it were better for him rather, that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were cast into the sea.
43.*Wherefore if thine shand cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life, maimed, then having two hands, to go into hell into the fire that never shalbe quenched,
44.*Where their tworm dyeth not, and the fire never goeth out.
45.Likewise, if thy foot cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to go halt into life, then having two feet to be cast into hell into the fire that never shalbe quenched,
46.Where their worm dyeth not, and the fire never goeth out.
47.And if thine eye cause thee to offend, pluck it out: it is better for thee to go into the kingdom of God with one eye, then having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire,
48.Where their worm dyeth not, and the fire never goeth out.
49.For every man shalbe usalted with fire: and *every sacrifice shalbe salted with salt.
50.*Salt is good: but if the xsalt be unsavory, wherewith shall it be seasoned? Have salt in your selves, and have peace, one with another.
