Leviticus 10

2 Nadáb & Abihu, are burnt. 6 Iſraél mourneth for thẽ, but the Prieſts might not. 9 The Prieſts are forbidden wine.
1.BVt * Nadáb and Abihú, the ſonnes of Aarón, toke either of them his cenſor, and put fire therein, and put incens thereupon, and offred a ſtrange fire before the Lord, which he had not commãded them.
2.Therefore a fire wẽt out from the Lord, & deuoured them: ſo thei dyed before the Lord.
3.Then Moſés ſaid vnto Aarón, This is it that the Lord ſpake, ſaying, I wil be b ſanctified in them that come nere me, & before all the people I wil be glorified: but Aarón helde his peace.
4.And Moſés called Miſhaél and Elzaphán the ſonnes of Vzziél, the vncle of Aarón, and ſaid vnto them, Come nere, cary your " brethren from before the Sanctuarie out of the hoſte.
5.Then thei went, & caryed them in their coates out of the hoſte, as Moſés had comãded.
6.After, Moſés ſaid vnto Aarón and vnto Eleazár and Ithamár his ſonnes, c Vncouer not your heades, nether rent your clothes, leſt ye dye, and leſt wrath come vpon all the people: but let your brethren, all the houſe of Iſraél bewaile the burning which the Lord hathe d kindled.
7.And go not ye out from the dore of the Tabernacle of the Congregacion, leſt ye dye: for the anointing oyle of the Lord is vpon you: and thei did according to Moſés commandement.
8.¶ And ye Lord ſpake vnto Aarón, ſaying,
9.Thou ſhalt not drinke wine nor " ſtrong drinke, thou, nor thy ſonnes with thee, whẽ ye come into the Tabernacle of the Cõgregacion, leſt ye dye: this is an ordinance for euer throughout your generacions,
10.That ye may put difference betwene the holy and the vnholy, and betwene the cleane and the vncleane,
11.And that ye may teache the children of Iſraél all the ſtatutes which the Lord hathe comãded thẽ by the hand " of Moſés.
12.¶ Then Moſés ſaid vnto Aarón & vnto Eleazár and to Ithamár his ſonnes that were left, Take the meat offring that remaineth of the offrings of the Lord, made by fire, & eat it without leauen beſide the altar: for it is moſte holy:
13.And ye ſhal eat it in the holy place, becauſe it is thy duetie & thy ſonnes duetie of of the offrings of the Lord made by fire: for ſo I am commanded.
14.Alſo * the ſhaken breaſt and the heaue ſhulder ſhal ye eat in " a cleane place: thou, and thy ſonnes, and thy e daughters with thee: for thei are giuen as thy duetie and thy ſonnes duetie, of the peace offrings of the children of Iſraél.
15.The heaue ſhulder, and the ſhakē breaſt ſhal they bring with the offrings made by fire of the fat, to ſhake it to and fro before the Lord, and it ſhalbe thine and thy ſonnes with thee by a lawe for euer, as the Lord hathe commanded.
16.* And Moſes ſoght yͭ goat that was offered for ſinne, and lo, it was burnt: therefore he was angry with Eleazár and Itha-már the ſonnes of Aarón, which were f left aliue, ſaying,
17.Wherefore haue ye not eaten the ſin offring in the holy place, ſeing it is moſte holy? and God hathe giuen it you, to beare the iniquitie of the Cōgregaciō, to make an atonement for them before the Lord.
18.Beholde, the blood of it was not broght within the holy place: ye ſhulde haue eaten it in the holy place, * as I commāded.
19.And Aarón ſaid vnto Moſes, Beholde, this day g haue they offred their ſin offring and their burnt offring before the Lord, and ſuche things as thou knoweſt are come vnto me: if I had eaten the ſin offring to day, ſhulde it haue bene accepted in the ſight of the Lord?
20.So when Moſes heard it, he was h contēt.
